Default a Home theatre problem, to TrueHd or not to TrueHD

excuse the cheesy topic title, hopefully it drew your attention.

i am faced with a problem I wish to purchase a new system such as the sony DAVDZ860W which consists of a 5.1 Dolby/DTS system, with DVD, HDMI output and optical inputs, it is only Dolby 5.1/ DTS but not the HD audio codecs.

the other option is getting a system such as the Onkyo 606 with Q Acoustics 1010i 5.1 speakers. My question or hopefully you guys opinions can help is for the money about £369-500 for the Sony, or £8-900 for the HD audio setup of the 606/and 1010 speakers. I dunno if i can justify the difference in quality, I am told the difference is very good making it feel more like a cinema with the quieter sounds quieter, and the loud louder, sort of like a more dynamic range.

With my HDTV I can clearly see the difference, but sound I fear I may not. Thats why im gonna go for a demo in my local audio experts retailer.

However i may not be able to test the 606/1010i for that sort of price do you guys think I am gonna definetly benefit over the Sony setup, I mean I'm telling myself i should do. Any opinions?

thanks guys & girls
