Default Has This Ever Happened To You?

I recently walked into a store, noticed they had three copies of "I, Robot" on the shelf, left and went about my business with the intention of coming back to get it later, and when I came back there wasn't a single copy left. This has happened to me more than once and here I was convinced that nobody buys blu-rays except for me.

That's why whenever I see something I want, as long as I have the money to spend, I get it.

But three copies? That's kinda crazy. How long was the time gap?

Not for purchases, but I've noticed the trend at Blockbuster for renting. I normally stop by on Tuesday during lunch to pick up the new Blu release and by 12:30 the 3-4 copies of whatever new title - for instance 88 mins this week - are already gone.

That's why you always find a mom and pop shop that breaks street and rents new releases on Friday. The mom and pop shop near me is already renting our Iron Man.

Not quite the same thing, but the day TRANSFORMERS came out, there were about 25 BD copies on the shelf, and the next afternoon only one remained. I haven't bought it, though.

My local Best Buy sold out of Nightmare Before Christmas the day it came out. They said they had about 50 copies sell.

Then I went to Target and they had 2 copies left. I had no idea that movie was so popular...

It usually does happen to me except its the other way around. I'm usually the lucky bastard that picks up the last copy of any movie either its a rental or purchase.

The only time this has happened was back when Resident Evil 3 came out. At the time they would only get 5 to 6 Blu copies. I went on Wednesday..and ALL copies were out..but they had TONS of DVD copies.

I've noticed that more and more. New titles especially. I went in looking for 'The Fall' this past week (based off of recommendation/review here) in two different Best Buys with no luck...
