Default Trailers for The X-Files: Fight the Future and I Want to Be Believe not included?

"Fight the Future" for me has been a highly-anticipated catalog title. I've been hoping to upgrade from the non-anamorphic release. (I never got around to purchasing the reissue). Though we are far off from a review on the audio and video presentation (which I hope in this case, will be a solid presentation), can someone please give me a confirmation that they are (in fact) being included. Among the new BD exclusives, are "theatrical trailers" in HD. Are these the trailers to "Fight the Future" but in high definition, or are these trailers for other Fox releases? I loved the marketing done for this film (which they did an outstanding job on), and will be a big loss if they don't include the three trailers from the two previous DVD releases. I don't know if Fox has a tendency to include trailers or not on their Blu-ray releases as this would be my first Fox BD purchase.

If they are not being included, this needs to be rectified (and quickly) before the December 2nd street date. If anyone has contacts with Fox here, please encourage them to fix this major oversight.

they're more than likely the theatrical trailers for fight the future. fox doesn't do trailers/previews for other movies on their releases. in fact most companies don't. the only one i know of that still does is disney. they've really been the only ones to do it consistently.

I've never really understood why they bother releasing trailer of the movie you are currently watching... The purpose of a trailer is to incite you to go see or buy the movie... I prefer alot more to have behind the scene bonus than trailers

Actually, Fox does on most of their releases. The recent ones are forced when you start the disc, but other ones you just go into the trailers section and they're there.

But I am 99.99999% sure these trailers will be for Fight The Future (is that even really what it's called? I always thought it was like X2: X-Men United where the director wanted it to be X2 and no where in the film does it say X-Men United, but Fox wanted to add more to it... at least I think that's what happened...)

For many, the trailers are a major part of the movie-going experience. Movie trailers are often the first impression one gets about a film, and people like me like to relive that experience on home video. Plus, many trailers offer alternate shots, dialogue, ADR, etc. not present in the final film. Indeed many trailers (cough...SW: Ep. I ...cough) are much better than the films themselves.

It's memorabilia- part of the vibe that brought that movie to you in the first place.

I was just about to say exactly the opposite to one of your points- that sometimes the trailer is so much more cheesy/campy than the "legendary" movie that inspired you to get the disc in the first place. It's interesting to see the evolution of marketing, nonetheless. A particular example that comes to mind is the trailers to Die Hard. Omg, is that some cheesy crap, by today's standards...but maybe we were of the mindset to utterly eat that up back then? I don't really remember what my response was to it back then. I would never trash the movie, but if it were up to the impression left by the trailers, I would have thought it was the most stupid concoction to ever come out of Hollywood.
