Default Question for Cubs Fans

Why do you think that this year is any different than any other year?

You guys have been in this position before and everytime you blow it. You guys can spend millions in the off season, make a team of all-stars and you still blow it? So why am I supposed to believe this is your year.

You have a legit curse on your team. This isn't some made up BoSox crap about the Bambino to explain why your team losses. This was a real curse placed on the team during the 1945 series and your team has yet to win a pennant in over 60 years. You've won division titles, even appeared to be on the brink of winning the pennant and everytime it is blown.

So what should make me believe that this year is the year, that this time things are different and that 63 years of failure isn't simply going to repeat itself one more time.

You guys know that the only way to break the curse is to tear down Wrigley and while nearly every other team in the league has built new Staduims, you defiantly keep that place open, despite the curse specifically saying that the Cubs will simply never play in another World Series at Wrigley.

Do you guys like the pain? Do you like losing?

I understand that many of you have fetishes for Wrigley Field, but even if you guys promised to play the World Series in US Cellular or Miller Park, God would probably let you finally win a pennant.

Yeah, Cubs fans are a bit masochistic.

And just to show that I'm an equal opportunity offender and am unbiased.

The curse of the Billy Goat is more legit than the supposed curse of the Bambino? Ha-ha! They're both goofy made-up curses IMO. Maybe this year the Cubbies will go the distance! Hard to say, competition will be tough this year with the Angels, the surprising Rays and the defending Champs in the mix...

I find it amusing that Cubs fans patronise the Billy Goat restaurant, this restaurant owned by the man who put the famous curse on this team. I read this restaurant is very popular with the Cubs fans. Hmmmmm.........interesting.

I used to rent a rehearsal studio near there in an old abandoned warehouse. We'd eat there on occasion and it was pretty good. Nothing to go way out of your way for or anything, but it was really hard to understand the guy, kinda like the SNL Belushi skit. CHEESEBURGER!!, CHEESEBURGER!!, CHEESEBURGER!!

Oh sure, cheer for the guy with too much elephant growth hormone... How ELSE do you explain the quasi-trunk that's growing out of his chin?

Man, who doesn't.... It was ALL OVER the news for MONTHS!!!

I thought there was a "black cat" incident too.... Maybe that was the wrong team..

In any case, I'm watching my Mets collapse again...
