Hybrid Player??? - Blu-ray Forum

There have been talks that LG is releasing a hybrid player that supports both Blu-Ray and HD DVD formats...I have seen advertisements for it but is it really off the ground?

does anyone know anything about this? Is this some attempt to merge the two? If so...I'm against it.

I wish that Blu-ray unicorn would impale the HD-DVD one.

That price aint going to sit well with the hd dud brigade, those idiots want players for $200.......The worst of both worlds is about right to describe this piece of over priced crap.

That is without a doubt the worst idea, accompanied by the all time worst advertising image I think I have ever seen.

I don't know why people are even considering buying this thing. Why support the movie studio division caused by hd-dvd? Blu-ray is all that's needed. By buying it, you're really just spending extra money on a system that's going to end up supporting a dead format (HD-DVD).
