I really want this to do well. I have no investment in the character as its not one I read when I was into comics, but I loved Sin City and the 300, and I loved reading those comics.

However, I just don't see it. He's not a "costume" and he's possibly a little too straight-laced for the vigilante/punisher/revenge tale. I'm just not sure it's going to do very well. I think Sam Jackson is a bad choice- he's been completely overused.

I guess we'll see- I wouldn't mind being wrong here, but I don't think Frank's directoral debut is going to do that well financially.

I wonder if this is going to be one of those movies that does well because it exceeds everyone's expectations. Maybe, maybe not. I seem to remember a lot of negativity towards Iron Man on these boards before it opened.

The dialog alone had me cringing throughout.

I'm passing on this one big time. I smell a huge bomb.

Just found this old thread and it made me laugh. While I am often wrong about how bad the movie will be based solely on the trailer, I was right about this one. What a stinker. LOL

Wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I guess going into it I knew people hated it and I didn't expect much. Lower expectations make for a more enjoyable movie experience.
