Default Tell me if you're annoyed LBP, Fallout 3, Resistance 2, etc...

Is anyone as annoyed as me that all these games are coming out so close together? Couldn't they have spaced them out a little considering we go through lulls (like this past summer)? Money is not a concern for me but time is and I'd be hard-pressed to just fit Fallout 3 into my schedule.

Oh, let's not even mention Socom comes out too (I didn't mention it with the other 3 because I don't think it'll be quite as good based off of what the beta showed me).

EDIT: I forgot about Motorstorm 2 (thanks stockstar) plus everything else you mentioned!

i totally agree. its clear they want them all to come out a little before the holliday season.

your forgot to include Far Cry 2, Bioshock (for PS3 only ppl), COD5:WaW and Motorstorm.

what is happening with me is that many of these i will not have time for and im only going to buy the ones that really, really standout. the rest are normally day 1 buys, but since im going to be busy with a bunch of other games, ill pick them up used for half the cost and the dev will never see a dime of my money. so this theory could back fire on those devs that don't have really, really awesome games, casue this season is packed with compeition.

plus Eternal Sonata (director's cut PS3 exclusive), and Star Ocean(PSP), King of Fighters Orichi Saga(PS2, PSP, and Wii) are some other great games coming around this timeline for October as well

I wouldn't worry about it too much my friend. Buy Fallout 3, finish it (Which'll probably take a couple of years) and by then LBP and Resistance 2 will be in the bargain bin for peanuts.

I really like the fact that there is more GOOD game that comes out than that I can buy... so that when there will be a dead time for good new release I can picked some games at bargain price or at Greatest hit price!

doubt it. took resistance FOM a year and a half to be reduced. games like uncharted, rachet and clank, are stil $60. LBP has the potential to be that type of game. resistance 2 will stay $60 till we get close to resistance 3. oblivion GOY edition is still $60, i see Fallout3 following suit.

but now i have seen everything. first people complain about not enough good ps3 games, now we are complaining about TOO MANY?!?

Im not worried. You said it yourself, there are slow periods. You'll just have options left over for the slow periods.

I'm such a casual gamer that there's no way something like that would bother me. I recently bought Resistance new for $15 using a Kmart coupon after it dropped in price. I'm still playing some of my DreamCast games from time to time. I'm mostly into sports games and I love how they have no re-sale value as soon as the next years release comes along. Great sports games used under $10 at Gamestop is hecka fun.

I say ... release um all as soon as they are ready... That way they get to the bargain bin sooner and eventually I may pick some of them up. I'm pretty sure I'll pick up Resistance II for $15 eventually (I don't mind if it's used since Blu Rays are hard to damage.)

No way ever would I go pay something like $59 for any game,... So I stay behind the tide.

-Brian

i say the more games the better... i feel you on the drought though. If you relied only on the ps3 for gaming then the summer was a bit slow... On the other hand i like for these good games to make as much money as possible so there is a large incentive for other publishers to make othre new high-budget games.

Seriously, what is the problem?

You say:
1) There are going to be lulls again next summer as a result of them doing this
2) You don't have enough time to play Fallout 3 as it is

So why not buy one game at a time and spread them out yourself?

Not everyone is playing every single game that is coming out this season and some of us are glad there is going to be variety to choose from when making our Christmas lists.

Not only that, but if it takes you 6 months to get to game #3, there is a much better chance of a price drop or really good sale by then than if you buy them all now.

Your right and when your right your right.

Why does publishers have to control our spending and what games we buy when we buy.

I just recently went off and purchased a ps3 launch title this weekend.
