Default Which moderator does what?

ok so i've been wanting to ask this for awhile, but just now getting around to it. (or did i miss this thread/explanation already?)

do we have specific mod's for specific sections, or are we just supposed to contact whoever for whatever need we have? because from what i've gathered, we only have 2 mod's that play a specific role. and thats in the home theater and game sections. everywhere else its a freeforall and i'm not sure who to contact most of the time. so i usually don't even bother contacting anyone. and then there's the issue of which mod to contact based on activity. i dont know if its more of a thing where i'm just not online when they are, or that they play more of a lurker role, or if they just don't sign on very often. but its hard to know who to pm.

who do i go to about starting a thread in the off topic section, or what format of thread i should start in the movie's/tv section? and i know i brought it up a long time ago, but some of the mod's don't even have the title under their name, so its hard to even know who IS a mod at times.

and did Deciazulado take over wicky's role, where they kind of oversee the whole forum, and thats who you hit up for questionable posts, bans, etc?

but anyways...who do we go to for specific stuff?

i think the mods here are given specific areas to work with, and is noted at the bottom of the first 'tab' of the section... (ie. here bottom right corner shows shinra, wicky woo etc...

when i see 'errors' of find some material id like to reconsider, or find important, i try to look at who is indicated in that section, and end up pm'ing them instead. heck even all three or four of em.

my take on it is, its an amazingly broad forum, and it takes a lot of manpower to take care of it, thus a number of dedicated colleagues to handle it. if there should be any problems, id go with the people ive indicated below, and have em take care of the problem. once noted, im sure they'd get back to you on it.

i dont know how the 'names/titles' work, heck i even see special members. nonetheless, as long as my post is of meaning, and worth some reason, then why should i be worried?

yet, im not as seasoned as the others here, so im just working with what i see...

i get what you're saying, but take the ps3 section for instance. here are the mod's listed as moderators of that section..

Shin-Ra, Blue, thunderhawk, Deciazulado, Josh, Wondermaker, Chris Beveridge, dialog_gvf, WickyWoo, Ben

only one of those mod's actually moderates that section (for the most part). so while the others CAN, they usually don't. but thats not so defined everywhere else on the forum.

true, thats why i prefer to pm those who i see online most of the time.

as for the other parts, i have no idea.

just my two cents from what i can see/observe as a member.

and no, im not one of em.

yeah thats usually what i do when i really need to talk to a mod, but i guess i'm asking more for a clear cut line drawn, if thats even possible.

but my question remains, who do i hit up for movies/tv? and i know wondermaker is kind of the offtopic section mod, but it seems shes never around

correct me if I am wrong, but Its broken down by area
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showgroups.php

but when the super mod status is added, I believe its a vb default that would show them as a group leader.

I wouldnt sweat it

i think we all know about that, and you're right thats how vb does it. but that still leaves unanswered questions

if there's no good answer thats fine, i'll just pm everyone until somebody replies its not a big deal, just thought it was worth bringing up

As mods, we all pitch in where necessary while certain mods tend to cover specific areas of the site - - some out of personal preference and some as official assignments. For example, I'm the review editor, but also a super-mod. So, I monitor the whole forum in addition to my duties where reviews are concerned. Crackinhedz is in charge of the the HT section, so he's generally there. If you are ever in need of assistance, don't hesistate to let any one of us know as we're all here to help.

i guess i kinda knew that already, but wasnt completely sure on if any other mods had specific areas they attended. i appreciate your response

i think the other example i want to make, take you for instance, you have the bluray reviewer as your title, but are also a super mod. i never would have thought to contact you for anything other than reviews.

i suppose the thread is kinda pointless since i knew all this before but was hoping for more of a clear cut, this mod does this sort of answer. but if its mostly a free for all..then ill take that too and run with it

thanks

You know, I had a delusional dream last night I woke up and had moderator powers. I need to stop eating full meals before bedtime.

I once dreamed I was flying. When I woke up, I was on the floor face down with my arms extended. It wasn't the full meals, its was the dang alchohol!

Did you read my sig or my user title? Neither of them say reviewer and moderator is listed in my sig.

Do you ever have a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

Why am I the only person who ever has that dream?

xtop,

i dont believe this thread was pointless, considering that there are other people out there who
1. have never joined a forum before,
2. dont know what to do when trouble arises
3. dont know who to contact when it does...

should i have just wrote that as a simple sentence? i prefer bullets.. :P

anyways, if ONE person learns to locate one moderator in the bottom right section of the forum, then we have earned our reward.

worker bees never question, thus never having a king bee.

Makes sense, Brain Sturgeon is one helpful person, didn't know he was a mod.
