Default Columbia house problem

It seems all of my preorders have been thrown into duplicate orders, but I am now being charged full price for every single one, even if it showed up for free when I originally ordered. The customer service guy was a real prick and told I'd have to pay shipping on all the free titles as well. I was also told that I could not get preorders for free titles and that they would not go through as free. He said that he was unable to see these duplicate orders and that I was wrong because I couldn't see the master account record. Is there anything I can do? I am thinking about just cancelling most of my orders

Columbia House and BMG are pricks. They are owned by the same people. I will tell people to totally avoid both. I accidentally order a cd by mistake that I already had, but they process so fast they could not cancel the order, they told me just to refuse it. I did and they claim I still had to pay shipping and handling. I call them, laughed at them and informed them that their web site states that if I do not open and refuse I will not be charged shipping and handling. They reluctantly credited my account. I quickly got of the club and will never go back.
I say cancel your whole order. Buy what you have to fulfil your membership and cancel your account. I rather deal with the mob or the IRS than them.

well on my third call I finally got someone who was not incompetent. The previous woman had tried to cancel all of my preorders when I actually requested to cancel only 3 of them. The lady I talked to last finally told me that they could credit me for the ones that had shown up as free originally.

Theres an easy solution to this. When they send me a movie when i forget to decline the monthly directors selection, i simply take the package, cross out my name and address and write "return to sender". Ive done this about 10 times at least and works every time. once they receive it, they credit the amount back to your CC and pay nothing to get it back to them.

I guess you mean you want to sign it with the blu-ray offer?

go to columbiahouse web site on dvd and use the search option with blu-ray (note that it is not every movie that have blu-ray in the title, so you might want to search the movie you are interested to see if a blu-ray edition is available

If you want to sign up for only the BD club, you need to call them up as they haven't put that out on the website yet. If you want to do a regular dvd club membership (which after your initial dvds can be used for BDs), just sign up normally and they will appear on the member's website. Check out DVDtalk for more information.

Pelican I did this and still had to fight with them to credit me the shipping and handling. I had to paste a copy of their web page in an email I sent them to prove they do this.

Their customer service is 1-800-262-2001. Just select the place an order option and you can talk to a live person.

I just wanted to say, that Columbia House Sucks!!! I ordered two movies for the BOGO a while ago, still havent received either and now they say their standard shipping could take up to 4 weeks to receive, just crazy. I ordered Risky Business and 1408. They waited to ship Risky Business with 1408, cancelled Risky Business on me, then restated it in the order. Its just all messy, im cancelling my membership with them once I receive these, just thought you all might wanna know lol.

Everybody has some problem with Colombia House, but everyone just continues to buy from them. If you have such a problem with them, then stop ordering from them.
