Default The temple of doom

I just got done reading the review for the crystal skull and the reviewer actually compared it to the TOD? Really? Was TOD really that bad? It was honestly my favorite out of the series due to the dark and suspensful atmosphere. Comparing it to the crystal skull though is just ridiculous I didn't know cheesey CGI, and a monkey army was on par with the TOD. Is it just me?

both temple of doom and KOTCS are underrated movies. ToD was the better I believe, but ToD had some pretty dumb moments in it too.

I wouldn’t compare these two films only on principle because as a child Temple Of Doom was my favorite out of the three; it had Data (Short Round) for cripes sake. But there were some ridiculous parts like when they jumped out of a plane and inflated the White water river raft and floated down on it, then after a rediculous ride through snowy mountains they go off a cliff again floating perfectly then landing into a river while still unharmed. Now I am only pointing out these outrageous acts as similarities to the Crystal skull because it to had some whammiess SPOILERS (Ants, Swinging with monkees and of course Stevie Spielberg had to throw in Aliens) butI love Indiana Jones and will defend it to my death, its simply a movie and it's enjoyable.

I never understood the hating of ToD. It had the mine cart sequence and Short Round. How can you not love that?

Wasn't it Lucas not Spielberg that did the throwing?

I liked them in release order:

1. Raiders
2. Temple of Doom
3. Crusade
4. CS

They just got progressively worse.

Nope. KOTCS was #4 chronologically as well as quality.

This has always been my opinion as well. And I feel like Raiders isn't just better than the other three.....but much much better than the other three.

I remember playing the Playstation "Lego Indiana Jones", in which each of the characters has a different problem-solving ability--
(Eg., Indy can swing across cliffs on his whip, Sallah has a shovel to dig treasures, Shorty can go through small tunnels, etc.)

...And what was Willie Scott's valuable ability?
I quote: "Willie's voice can break glass--Press X button to scream!"

(Yep...That about covers the character. )

If you're referring to the
[Show spoiler]aliens
, believe it was Frank Darabont who did the throwing....Or was it Menno Meyjes?
All George did was push the "Puree" button on the discarded-script blender.

I can't quite put them in order out of the original trilogy, I love all three and grew up watching those. Crystal Skull however, for me, doesn't even compare to those. I was hugely disappointed.

Temple of doom ist still my favorite for nostalgic reasons (I saw this one first), although Raiders is probably the "better" film. Last Crusade was a dissappointing rehash of Raiders, while Crystal Skull had at least new ideas. And the aliens idea comes from Lucas, the first draft being titled "Indiana Jones and the Saucermen from Mars". Spielberg was initially against using them and agreed as a compromise to their current form in the picture, as a background only to the crystal skull mystery.

+1
I ignore TOD as it is the worst of them all, I not only hate it as an Indy movie, but as a movie all together! I only hate parts of KotCS ie the aliens the Tarzan swinging and the refrigerator blast.

Same here.

Raiders - Just a great total movie
ToD - Story was cool, and I liked Indy best in this, when compared to the other movies. The other characters were meh (namely Willy and Short-Round).
Last Crusade - I like Connery for comic relief. Saul was good too. I liked this a little more than ToD, but a little less that Raiders.
KotCS - I can't really put my finger on it, but I was very uncomfortable watching this movie.... the screenplay seemed forced and unfitting, the acting was sub-par (Ford too old, Shia too "cutout", and Blanchett.... just terrible accent)

I like Raiders and Last Crusade equally. Haven't seen the new one with shia, ugh.
