The speaker you listed is of the newer Omnipolar design, and would be quite different sonically from your main speakers.

Taking a quick look on Ebay, here’s what I found:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mirage-Home-Thea...d=p3286.c0.m14

http://cgi.ebay.com/MIRAGE-SPEAKERS-...d=p3286.c0.m14

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mirage-260-Speak...d=p3286.c0.m14

Kind of slim pickings.

I would start by contacting Mirage
1-866-428-2122
support@miragespeakers.com

Maybe they can identify a speaker in their current line-up that would match up well with yours!

Thanks,Cravnvn

But its a center channel iam looking at.
I know for a fact the best center for my speakers is the MC SI ,But i heard good things about the Omni CC?
I read one review that said it would match timber to any Mirage set.I really can't find that to be believable? But who knows.I don't?

Right now iam useing a Paradigm cc-270

Even given the bi-polar design of your mains, I would say the omni-polar design would sound quite different. I know the listing I put up are for bookshelf pairs, but might one speaker out of the pair suffice?

If you know a store near you that sells Mirage, you could also ask them they might help you out!

Man do i wish.

Iam just going to get something off my chest so bare with me.

Once in awhile i get a few 100 bucks to spend on myself (DAD).so when i have this money i look all over for something i want.Ive been looking for a mirage(high end) center for almost 7 months to go with my older but beautiful front speakers.

If i don't find something soon something will come up and my money will go away. My kids( they ask for something). Then my wife will hit me up for money for ,I don't know a new hair dryer and more make up and before you know it my money is gone and i end up with a new blu ray movie.

Now this has happened to me on more then one occasions. So if i don't get something soon i'll be just staring at another new blu ray disk again.lol

O.K i feel better,

so yeah there's no dealer around me, I was hoping to find someone one on this forum that might know a little bit more about Mirage speaker then i do I have to tell you the Omni cc center looks really sexy and i like those specs But is this center a keeper for my fronts

And thanks for taking the time to read me venting. The funny thing while typing this, One of my 4 son's Lee just asked for a inner tube for his bike (it's starting again) HELP!

Ozz, do you have a paypal account? I've found one for you - It's $200.00 and its located in Boulder Colorado http://boulder.craigslist.org/ele/842868425.html

I'm continuing to look for you - and if I come across one in my classic vintage speaker hunts - I'll definately give you a holla!!!!

Have i told you lately that i love you,Does'nt those m-5si look sexy.I do have a paypal account.(you know i do)

Try keeping the speakers in Canada if your searching on the net for me brother .
Your help has always been amazing .
I would be looking at $200 for duty on that MC-Si and add 100 for shipping.that could go over my limit of what i would spend.

Right now i have about 300 Canadian and i can grab that Omni - CC for 199 Canadian, maybe roughly 80 bucks for shipping,if i choose to take it? Iam in Ontario and the center is in B.C.Thanks for contacting Mirage for me ,You go beyond helping

Perich what do you think of those spec's, look good EH!.(sorry ,like i said Canadian ) they look pretty close to the MC SI (add a midrange)
Give me your opinion between the 2 centers,Honestly.Give it to me straight brother.

Spec's are nice nothing wrong with those! I'm wondering what Mirage is going to tell me about mating those with the famous M5-si's ! You know I have a great deal of respect for classic Mirage speakers. I have a great deal of respect for most classic speakers - it seems that something happened in the 90's - most of the great classic speaker makers went commercial! I like the route Paradigm is taking they're not getting cheaper - they're getting better!!! Your Paradigm center is good but it is sonically different that your Mirage speakers. We'll see in a few my friend

Got an answer direct from the senior technical support person (you know they are owned by Klipsch/Aragon now). Here's the verdict - For the M5si, if you can't obtain the MCsi, the next best match is the (drumroll please) the OS-3 CC both have titanium tweeters. It's $400.00 and the specs are less than the one you have choosen. So my advice if you can't find a MCsi - is to get the one you mentioned, nice specs - better ones than the OS3 (but specs aren't everything - the OS3 is actually 1db more sensitive than the one you've chosen - but is that worth 200.00 more dollars?) The one you've chosen also has titanium tweeters - should be a good match. Go for it Ozzman! See how you like - but check out the return policy before you buy!

I feel remiss in not mentioning that you should try the phantom center approach. I know I’m in the minority here, but with your main speakers, it might be worth a try, just for fun.

You're welcome And just for fun, like Cravnsn said, ...Try the phantom center and see how it sounds with those massive M5's. It ought to be interesting

ozzman!!!!

If it is cheaper for you to buy it in the U.S. and if you want.......... I live in Ohio and will be coming to Ontario next weekend (10th,11th, & 12th). I will be staying in Niagara Falls and will be in Hamilton and in Toronto also.

If you find a great deal down here and have it shipped to me or if it can be bought at Circuit City or Best Buy I can see if they have it in stock and pick it up.

I have no problem bringing the speaker up with me it that helps you out at all??? You won't have to pay all the extra fee's..........

Let me know I don't mind.

Madabb,Thats really nice of you. Thanks for the offer, maybe I'll get back to you if i need your help THANKS

Using the phantom ,sure I'll play with it but you know I'll go back to the center pretty quick.
My speakers aren't timber matched but they do sound good.

Really if i could never find a good mirage center(which of course i will) The PARADIGM center that i have would be a keeper It really does sound that good.

I just want BETTER Who can blame me

I want to take a moment and thank my friends who replied on this thread,The best thing i did personally for myself and my equipment this year was join this forum. You boys really have been helpful too me on more then one occasion. Thank you it means a lot

Default What Mirage told me

I know I am late to this thread but I wanted to write what Mirage told me.

I too was looking for a center match for my M5-si's (bought new in 93. Damn I love them). I called Mirage and of course they told me to find the MC-Si , but for the best match they told me the OMD-C2 or the OMD-C1.

I went to Vann's and the prices were awesome. I was set to purchase the OMD-C2 for $700.00 and be done with it. Before I did I thought I'd search one more time for the MC-Si.......and son of a gun I found one ($200.00 plus shipping). Finally.

I know you said your budget was 300 but why mix a center that is not a good match for your M5's?

I hope you can find the MC-Si but if not the OMD-C1 at Vanns is $399 and shipping is free.

Good luck
