I received my Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection today and I found a flyer in both Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin with cover shots of movies that are not even announced yet by Universal
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For me the most important one would be Serenity. I know the pictures are low quality but that´s what you get from using a cellphone. If anyone has a scanner and a copy of either Knocked Up of The 40-Year-Old Virgin, please make a proper image ![]() In case you can´t make out the titles or the images are removed here is a list: - Pitch Black - I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry - The Thing - Knocked Up - Heroes season 1 - U/571 - Doomsday - The Mummy Returns - Happy Gilmore (I´m not sure about this one I can only make out a guy with a golf club) - Dawn Of The Dead - Fearless - The Scorpion King - The Chronicles Of Riddick - Billy Madison - Land Of The Dead - The Good Shepherd - Casino - Hulk (2003 version) - Heroes season 2 - Serenity ![]() - The Mummy - The Kingdom - American Gangster - The 40-Year-Old Virgin - Jarhead - Miami Vice Yes I know there are some titles that have either been released or are already announced. |

Very old. I just watched Serenity
![]() ![]() I am just vaguely interested here, because Universal does have the opportunity to "pull another 'American Gangster'" with a couple of these titles. "Pitch Black" could offer a significant upgrade over HDDVD if Universal actually includes the "Dark Fury" anime as a 1080p extra (got that on DVD, and it's pretty darn crucial. There's really no point owning both "Pitch Black" and "Chronicles of Riddick" without that little anime to go in between. Silly thing is, the HDDVD still includes a promo for the anime (ported from the DVD) but the anime itself is now virtually out of print. The other room for improvement is seamless branching. For some reason Europe got the Theatrical Cut, America got the "Extended Cut" there's practically no difference between them (I read a detailed description) but it would still be nice to have access to both. Ditto "Chronicles of Riddick" though the "Extended Cut" was released everywhere, and it's mostly better. The "Theatrical Cut" does have a little bit going for it (a few added scenes in the Extended Cut are pretty jarring, there's some redundancy, etc.) The other release that I anticipate pulling an 'American Gangster' is "Fearless" with it's much anticipated Director's Cut (including some scenes with Michelle Yeoh) |

![]() I can tell you it's a great release, though. Visually, it's very similar to "Transformers" (same type of background grain, some use of 'bleached' looking colors) Audio is only 1.5 mbps, but I'm not yet at the point of being able to comment intelligently on any "Lossy" audio flaws that might be there. (What do I look for, btw, in Lossy Audio? I know how to see "Edge Enhancement" and "DNR" and what not in video. But, with audio, I hear words like 'aliasing' and don't quite know what it's supposed to sound like. Can you give me some pointers on picking up the flaws in a Lossy encode?) I think Universal did the German release, so if you're lucky you'll be getting the same transfer in America one day. Just keep your fingers crossed. Like I said, it's discontinued now, but here's the link if you want to scout around "Marketplace" and maybe pick up a used copy. http://tiny.cc/q2R96 (Great movie, isn't it?) ![]() Last edited by Darth Lavender; 10-04-2008 at 06:15 PM. |

The HD DVD insert Universal provided did not have these exact same movies on it.

If I'm running Universal, I would want one of my most popular franchises to be out by Christmas. Right now, it looks like they only have Wanted and Momma Mia for December, so hopefully it shows up. I'm sure The Mummy will also be a December release.
