Default Encoding Problem With Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

Playback is on Sony BDP-S300 w/ latest firmware update (v. 4.20). I picked up the blu-ray last night and about mid-way through the movie it jumped back to the beginning. In the scene immediately following when the two are in the ocean, whenever it hits a certain point it immediately goes back to the beginning. I played it back several times at this point and it continued going back to the start. I had to skip that scene in order to watch the movie. This occurred on both versions of the movie, although strangely on the alternate version it happens about 5 seconds later in the movie.

Is anybody else experiencing playback problems like this on Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

I just tested it on the blu-ray drive on my laptop and had no problems. It looks like my problem may be specific to the Sony BDP-S300 w/ v. 4.20 firmware.

I had a problem veiwing it on my 60 gb PS3 with the latest firmware. Not the same problem that you had... Mine skipped ahead twice during playback. I reversed it and it happened again in the exact same spot each time?? I have been lazy to try it on my 40gb PS3, but my buddy has the movie and didn't mention problems veiwing it. I will take it back and try another disc when I make it back to Target.

if you watch the extended cut on the Pioneer BDP05FD, the transport controls will lock up the movie. You can bring up the menu and return to the theatrical cut with no problems in the viewing.

Using a 60gb PS3 and saw the extended cut with no issues. Am watching the theatrical cut now and so far it's been playing fine. I also watched a few of the features (the PIP commentary which is actually pretty fun) and I haven't had any issues with that eithere.

The PQ is odd on this one... it's kind of dim looking. It's hard to describe but yeah...

Somewhat late to chime in, but I rented this today, and I also had problems with this disc on my 60GB PS3 (freezes around the mid-way point).

The disc itself seemed pristine.
