Default Plasma or LCD TV in high altitude

I am planning on moving to Colorado and was going to buy a t.v. I want a large t.v. i read that plasma t.v. don't do to well in high altitude and Dever has very high altitude. Is there anyone in Colorado that can help with picking a plasma or LCD?

Colorado...high altitude? Nahhhh lol

I haven't heard of altitude issues with LCDs or Plasmas.

That's a new one on me.

Because plasma "cells" contain inert gases, the pressure increases at higher altitudes causing increased heat and forcing your fans to work harder. Pioneer and Panasonic state they are good up to 7500 and 7800 feet without issue.

Well thats good. I would like to get a Sony but the biggest tv they make is like 56 in. So I'm still contemplating Plasma or LCD.

I would get an LCD.
Plasmas have issued with altidude cause of the gas. Friends of mine in Mexico City say they plasmas either only last VERY little like 2yrs or they make a whistling noise when on like neon signs do....

Get an LCD
