The AVS webpage isn't coming up. They must have protested by taking their wack ass site offline.

Fight the power HD-DVD. Fight the power.

This is a very heavy traffic time for the AVS site, no wonder it's been down about the same TOD two days in a row (at least for me).

What's worse, the fact that the "harcore" HD DVD fans feel the need to organize a "national disc buy" or the fact that "hardcore" BD fans feel the need to criticize it?

Can't we all just be adults?

If we were all adults there wouldn't be a format war because adults would have agreed on single uniform format.

I don't see what one day is going to do for their sales. The weekly and monthly sales are what are really looked at. Plus what movies are they going to buy?

We should all buy movies on Apr. 15th just to balance out their sales. That would be funny. Even with everyone buying discs on one day, they probably still wouldn't have enough to make a dent in BD lead.

since i don't know where you're from, it is hard to criticize too much. however, just be careful when making those comments since it can appear as the exact opposite.

Has nothing to do with being an adult, that is just greed, plain and simple on both the camps' part.

I always think these 'buys' are funny.

So they blow their HD disc budget on one day.

Big deal.

I few days later it will be gone and all we will know is that a few people ganging together can mess with the numbers in the short term.

Sorry to hikjack but everyone needs to not buy gas this Sunday. Teach OPEC a lesson while we're at it.

teach opec a lesson? since you brought it up, that is the dumbes protest ever devised. all you do is buy more gas the next time anyway. plus the plastics used with our precious tech devices all contain petroleum. maybe we should all just drive reasonable vehicles? maybe a few less people driving f-350s to their office jobs?

as for the being adult. we are adults. kids would resort to name calling. like for example saying hd-dud as opposed to hd-dvd. that would be childish. I say let product quality speak for itself. that's why I bought a blu-ray.

isn't today march 13th the official 'lets all go buy casino royale' day? I know I am.

Not that much of our oil comes from OPEC nations. Far more comes from Canada and Venezuela.

The guys at Disney are going to be thumbing through their paperwork the morning of April 16 and be like, "Oh my GOD! Lokk at how many copies of The Good Sheppard sold yesterday on HD-DUD. We totally need to switch sides you guys. I'm serious. These guys are for real."

Apply sarcasm here.

The Ides of April is 13 April.

The Ides of every month is on the thirteenth except for March and September. For those two months, and those two months alone, the Ides is on the fifteenth.

(Ah my misspent youth studying Latin for many years -- in which the Ides actually meant something.)

Let these guys have their fun. They are way too emotionally invested in this, and hope they can think of themselves as being influential in....what?..I dunno. Continue to buy Blu-ray movies and enjoy some great high-def. I'm in this to enjoy movies in my HT. That other bunch is truly the most pathetic group of individuals I have ever seen post on a message board, and I have seen a lot!
