MGS4 on 360 Rumors Gain Ground
A positive report comes out of Japan.

October 14, 2008 - According to a Tokyo Game Show report from Japanese investment research firm Morningstar, Metal Gear Solid 4 may find its way to the Xbox 360 after all. Morningstar published a general article covering multiplatform trends that features a quote from a Konami public relations representative that should fuel rumors for months to come. The rep is quoted as saying, regarding MGS4, “We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360.” While this isn't a confirmation of it coming, it does lend hope to those Xbox 360 owners who haven't plunked down money on a PS3.

However, this little quote doesn't clear the major hurdle Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has listed for the title coming to Xbox 360. He has been quoted in several interviews saying a port was likely impossible due to the game being optimized for the PS3 hardware, specifically Blu-ray discs.

IGN has contacted Konami's US representatives for a comment and is awaiting a response. The original Morningstar report can be found here.

If they brought it to the 360 i bet they'd have a gigantic downloadable add-on immediatley for it in the marketplace. That seems like the only way they'd be able to bring to the 360

almost makes it sound like a misquote, or a metal gear game on 360, not necessarily mgs4

kojima has supposedly been working on a 360 project and has basically said its not Metal Gear.

Seems like a misquote, regarding Kojima, 360 and MGS.

I guess The Rumor will never Die... ,Even though KOJIMA HAS STATED MANY TIMES, THAT HE WILL BE DOING AN EXCLUSIVE FOR THE XBOX360. Outside of Metal Gear Solid :4, if Metal gear solid :4 does go also onto the xbox360 its going to be because of The Publisher, not Kojima, and it will not be the same game anyway.
Example motion controls would be absent from the xbox360 game.

MGS4 almost filled a BD50, right? Xbox games have about 7GB free on a DVD... that means 7 or 8 disc set?

final fantasy is going to be a bd50, but will hit the 360 as well. not saying it'll happen, but its possible.

It's possible in the sense that it'll have to be watered down severely in addition to the extra discs. In the case of Final Fantasy, expect their version to have lower resolution, lossy sound, and fewer graphical details.

the big question is, if they port mgs to xbox 360, will they still have all the playstation and mac stuff in the game.

it be hilarious, if otacon was bragging about blu-ray as the player changed to disc 5.
