Default Anyone notice (poltergeist)

The WB insert inside revealed that Wizard of Oz and King Kong (original) were coming to Blu. I knew of Oz but not King Kong. I like the fact that older classisc are getting that kinda treatment.

I haven't bought it yet but will. I saw an article earlier on that stated an insert said that Wizard of Oz, King Kong, LOTR Fellowship of the ring, Gone with the Wind and the Matrix will all be coming out next year. Hopefully in digibook form because its cool to learn more about the film. As for classics coming this year, the two major ones on my list are Casablanca and Shawshank Redemption both on December 2nd.

There is already a thread for King King coming to Blu-Ray, so it is starting to become old news.

Were you able to open the DVD and actually see the booklet?? I bought the DVD and the booklet is a really nice addition. It contains approx. 20 pages of detailed information about the movie. Details on all the cast and crew. Post production notes, Film facts and quite a few nice pictures from the movie and production.
The booklet looks like a DVD case but its actually a 'book' that you open to find the previously mentioned pages of movie facts and pictures and the DVD itself is mounted into the book at the back.
I am new to Bluray and no expert but the DVD transfer looks great to me! Nice sharp clear details and wonderful sound. Its the closest to what I remember when I saw it on the big screen years ago.
I have this movie in standard DVD as well as laser disc (yes, laser disc) and the Blueray blows those away.
If you are a fan of this movie this is a must have Blueray DVD and to me the booklet format is actually nice addition.

Obviously I've broken some sort of protocol ... Blu-ray! But, am I wrong ... it is recorded on a DVD is it not?

Well I think they are referring to the fact that Blu-Ray is only available on one format therefore the Blu-Ray DVD is not needed because nobody is going to think you meant your copy of Blu-Ray LaserDisc or Blu-Ray VHS, lol.

Poltergeist was really good on Blu. Worth the $19.99 I paid.

They are both 5 inch (12cm) shiny discs. For that matter, so are CDs. That doesn't make any of them the "same thing". A blu-ray disc will never play in a DVD player, because it's not a DVD, anymore than a DVD would be expected to playback in a CD player.
