CONAN....Thoughts? - Blu-ray Forum

I just played the demo for the first time and really enjoyed it. The first time around I was getting killed so quickly because I didn't know the moves or whatever and I tend to be impatient so I rarely look at the buttons aside from light attack/heavy attack. And my unwillingness to block very much attributed to that.

I just played it again though and ran through the demo is just over 10 minutes and scored 6000+.

I bought this game as well and hopefully will get that next week.

Anyone else played this? What you think?

Also what are some more games like this? Aside from God of War/Heavenly Sword/Onimusha.

I like games like this where you basically hack and slash your way through the countryside or whatever.

I don't like games that are RPG like where you have to use magic and apply potions and take turns and things like that.

I want to get as many games like this as possible.

Force Unleashed is hack n slash in the same fashion. I enjoyed both.

Dynasty Warriors which ever one is on the ps3, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Soon Dynasty Warriors Gundam II, Perhaps Oblivion, Vikings Asgaurd,
Untold Legends Dark Kingdon, thats all that really hits me at the moment.

I tried playing Dynasty Warriors 4 on PS2 and it seemed kinda complex. As in I have to set up military groups in areas and whatnot.

I just like games where it's just me, I gotta run through and kill people/demons/whatever and use various weapons or movies in the process.

I love God of War 1 & 2, I really like the Onimusha games, and Heavenly Sword.

Conan's demo was cool

Force Unleashed? The Star Wars game? Ugh. I figured it was sorta like a typical Star Wars where you're in a ship and fighting stuff in space or whatever.

Nah man, Force Unleashed is alright. Clearly...it is a first effort and the next one (if there is one) will be way better, but all in all it is a pretty good game.

I'm curious about Dynasty Warriors for PS3 (Not gundam...I have that.)

Is the control much different??? Anyone??

Beowulf was kinda like Conan.... and you can get it for less than 20 bucks most places....

Huh.. no you probably played DW4 empires which is not Dynasty Warriors.

In dynasty warriors you run around a large battlefield killing large amounts of people, you control no one and have absolutely no say where anyone goes.

You have allies but there automous try dw5, and try the dynasty warriors gundam demo on the psn you might like it or not, you control a mobile suit type thing and kill lots of other mobile suit things mostly with your melle weapons such as swords etc.

I rented the DW on the PS3. I think it was DW6. It was ok, it was the same concept as all their games. The graphics weren't really all that great, and there were framerate problems when there were masses of guys on the screen.

But co-op is always fun. Getting killed buy Lu-bei (sp?), not so much.

Devil May Cry 4 demo is awesome. Is it possible to finish that 10 minute thing or is it just you play for 10 minutes and get as far as you can?

I'm definitely buying that on the 1st.

Beowulf demo is not available. But I can get it on half.com for about 7 bucks so....I may pick that up as well.

Haven't played the Force Unleashed one yet.

Started to play "The Club" and stopped fairly quickly. Hate games like that.

Something that Conan should be congratulated on is getting Robert E Howard's character spot on. The voice performance from Ron Perlman captures the Cimmerian perfectly, and the story is loosely based on 'The Queen of The Black Coast.'

A really enjoyable game and much better than the PS2 peice of rubbish that came out in 2004, which is to be avoided!

It's not. I was excited for Golden Axe Beast Rider and was really anticipating its release. It turned out to be a steaming pile. It feels like one of those games that just gets slapped together, I was quite disappointed.

In dw2 LuBu could wipe the entire allied army by himself.

In dw3 The defeat of LuBu gives you a mild +2 attack.

In dw6 I can defeat Lubu as if he was a low level character, you just have to revisit that battle once your alot stronger.

Conan is a pretty fun game. I've played it through on 2 of the 4 difficulty levels already. Not to mention, I think you can get it brand new for under $30 now

Force Unleashed is pretty decent too, although I got stuck on one level where I had to bring down an Imperial destroyer with these Tie Fighters that kept shooting at me. That's when I sent it back to Gamefly. LOL

Well ive rented vikings and I can say its very much a hack and slash your character has a sword in one hand and a axe in another.

Much decapitations....

I liked the Ratchet and Clank demo....definitely gonna buy that. I've never played any of those before but that's a fun game.
