Default Car got broke into last night :(

First thing I notice (of course) is that my window is broken. They got my XM radio and Charlotte Bobcats tickets (not that I really about those, they suck) but I did want to see the Pistons in action.

I just hope they did not take time to look at all my receipts because then they would know I own a PS3...and they could put it together and break into the appt.

But thank GOD my Bond Blu Rays were not taken.

They were in the glove box hidden from my g/f. I guess they were on a mission for my XM and a fast search for w/e they could take.

ah yes, the old hidding what i just bought from the old lady trick!! i've done this myself many times.

not to smart of thieves if they didn't even bother to look into the glove box. that's like seeing a small safe in a house and saying:

"it's to obvious that something would be kept in there."

oh well, sorry for your loss.

I am not very upset about what I lost in the car, though I loved my XM radio for finding new music. But I am just going to be paranoid that my apartment could be hit next. If I lost my PS3 I would be so pissed! after transfering all my dvds taht are on blu over.

Man that sucks. Sorry to hear that happened to you. I feel your pain. Before I got married, me and my cousin were room mates, and the area was decent (we thought). My car at the time was a '92 Nissan Sentra that had a killer sound system, and was fixed up pretty clean. My window was shattered 3 times in a 6 month span, and the alarm ran the crooks away each time. I am glad that they never took anything, but I had a high deductable at the time so the cost of replacing the window came out of my pocket at $100+ a pop. It cost me $300+ for nothing. Not to mention replacing the window tint.

Mine was worse, my car got broken into in a Sheriff patroled Mertolink station. I get off work and get to the station and there glass on floor and a note in the car. The note read:
"It looks like your car got broken into. Sorry for the inconvinence. Please contact the Sheriff's Department to file a report."

I was so pissed off with a broken window and no radio.

The next day I saw a Sheriff near where I was parking and guess what, he was watching a portable DVD player.

I have not replaced the radio since the car is just a daily driver for work and I'm fine without it. Plus who's going to break in if theres no radio?

Yeah, I recently learned that 2 months ago the complex I live in was hit 6 times in one week. Makes me feel REAL great about having PS3 and LCD tv downstairs.

In general I am a paranoid person, I always expect the worst so I can get ready for it...so I am going to buy a baseball bat and sleep with it under my bed. ha

Sux. Which window?

I remember going to the junk yard to get a new window for my '74 duster way back when because someone swiped a radar detector that I pretty much never used anyway.

I picked up lots of parts for my car for about $20... I even changed out some of the seat belts for cleaner less worn belts.

I used to love going to the junk yard... made it seem like my car was in perfect condition as I would drive off the lot

Make sure you get renters insurance. I rent right now, and I got $15,000 worth of coverage on my guns, electronics, and wife's jewelry. It only costs me about $25 a month. It won't replace all of your hard drive content, but you will be able to replace it (PS3) if you do get robbed. If you are close to your neighbors, have them look out for you.

I actually just heard a geico commercial for people who rent and need insurance for their apartments, really considering it. Because I am pretty sure all they would take is the PS3, TV, and possibly my N64 if they look in the dresser.

Man! The radio missing with the wires hanging out....THAT SUCKS. I still take the face plate off of my JVC everyday, but I drive an old Chevy pick up truck, but it has the iPod connection, a 400w amp, and a 10" Kicker. The truck has never been hit in 3 Years since I been driving it. No tinted windows so they can see in and go away. It's a shame that you can't have nice things without worrying. I HATE a crook!

Are you kidding about the N64? Has it a resale value?

I put off posting a N64 for ebay for months before taking for donation.

I did manage to get good ebay money for the games though.

Well I just started my renters insurance. This coverage includes $15000 personal property, $100000 personal liability, $1000 medical payments to others, and $500 property damage to others.

Really glad I did it, even if nothing happens.

Do you happen to remember what section and seats those bobcat tickets were? Maybe the cops could give word to the arena and have someone waiting for them if they happen to be dumb enough to use them.

Sorry to hear what happened. My bike was stolen this week, which I also started a thread for https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=67987

Regarding your tickets, are they season tickets? If so, you should be able to get a new set, granted you file a police report.

If not, the fact that they got the bobcats tix will help you, because then they can figure out who broke in.

First my bike, now your car

We need a hero for these dark times
