OLEDs look amazing. I can't wait for them to come out in bigger sizes. I'm looking to pick up a few Gen2 OLEDs, so I hope a line is acutally coming out in 2008, so I can get Gen2 in 2009.

OLED looks like will be the technology of my next TV purchase in 4-5 years... (although I'm still remianing open toward other technologies) The OLED TV shown earlier this year by Sony looked remarkable. The fruits looked so REAL, and that was coming from my own little LCD monitor. I'd love to see them in person with my own eyes.

I cannot wait for OLED's to start hitting the market. They are going to take HD to yet another great level.

I like it I wonder if it will replace current technologies like LCD and Plasma...? Sony pumped so much money in LCD tech, will they abandon it so soon?

I doubt it. OLED is going to be expensive as hell for a long time from production right on through to what it's going to cost on the shelves. LCD, plasma, LCOS, and the rest of those aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

That's what I thought. It sure would be nice to hang a 100'' OLED on your wall though... if I could afford it...

And already there is something else on the horizon that promises to be superior to them all:

Dunno... can't tell anything from that YouTube movie... it looks like crap so how can you tell if it's actually a better image than what you've got now? Has anyone seen it in the flesh in anything other than HD? Everything looks great in Hd... how's it look on other sources?

well in 2010 or so if you shell out 2 or 3 grand for 100 inch for an oled screen since they can/are made of plastic.

to bad right know an oled tv(the blue diods) only last around 40 000 hourse

but hey two years ago the longest was 10 000 so hey lol

Does anyone know how long the pixels on that unipixel display will stay on. I ask because I cannot watch a DLP TV because I can see the rainbow effect, even on the newest sets, since the colors are put up temporally, like the Unipixel technology. That type of display is great for everyone except for those w/ the best eyesight, seeing the rainbow effect really takes away from the pleasure of watching a movie.

OLED TV IS THE FUTURE

LCD TV (either with CCFL or LED backlight) can't even come close to 1ms response time; Plasma has a hard time reducing its power consumption levels to LCD/CRT levels; Rear Projection still has a long way to go to "shave-off" its bulky and heavy rear-end and Front Projection.........is TEH CHEAP :P

Technology-wise, these things don't stand a chance to what OLED TV has to offer.

It looks like OLED TV will be the most-technologically-advanced and sophisticated thing that has happened in the history of HDTV sets.

Nothing can stop it now. By the year 2008-2009, OLED TV WILL RISE!!!!

Once Unipixel HDTV sets hit stores though as well there might be some competition for OLED. It appears to have some solid features.
