Default drum & bass/jungle on blu ray

i seen a thread moments ago discussing importing from Europe and im curious are there any blurays from any d&b artitst like noisia, calyx, goldie, kemal, ed rush & optical, teebee, future prophecies, photek and pendelum. Id love to see and hear a live set from any of the above metioned with loseless audio in 5.1. I figured there are blus from american artists like nin, dave mathews, blackalicious, and incubus maybe someone could link some jungle blus for me so i can import and enjoy please tell me its so.

I'm not aware yet of any jungle/d&b available on Blu-ray, but LTJ Bukem's last album is available through DTS Entertainment with a dts 24/96 5.1 track and it's a very nice mix sonically.

drum and bass is sort of misleading, as it often times doesn't include any drum or bass in it at all. you'd expect to hear nothing but actual drums and bass, but in reality it usually is just another form of electronica/dance music. at least none of the drum and bass that i've heard. it's been awhile since i've heard any though.

It's a genre though and it's been labelled as such for over 15 years, so to people who are looking for it, they know what it means.
When you listen to electronic bass or drums, you're still hearing bass and drums, just not in the traditional analog sense.

When you listen to Tony Levin playing Chapman Stick on Peter Gabriel's records you don't think to yourself "hey there's no bass in this song."

I mean, you don't expect to hear monkeys, lions and rhinoceri when you listen to jungle.

well, no. but then when i think of drum and bass i think of a guy playing drums and a guy playing bass. which isn't really the case. it's beats and bass lines. and not always original either. i'm not a huge fan of electronica/dance anyway. i like my music more organic. though i do like the idea of drum and bass. at least what of what i believe it to be. the new bohemians have played just drum and bass before. i loved it. i think a whole album of that would be awesome. maybe even a live show on blu-ray.

Although it's got beats (drums) and "bass" lines you'd be hard pressed to listen to drum n' bass and suggest it's abstract from melody lines too.

Bukem's "Planet Earth" dts cd is full of great melodies.
The only difference between some of these guys and Kitaro/Jean-Michel Jarre, etc., is the tempo, by about 250bpm.

OP - if you want the Planet Earth dts-cd it's available here for $14.45

...and my bad, it's not dts 24/96, it's regular dts 1.5Mbps core.

i fell out of my chair when i seen that comment cause its ironic i had a comic sketch i did for a local jungle/dnb zine with a sketched picture of my dumbass ex thinking jungle music is something to do with elephants, snakes, lions and chimps back in the mid 90s

but thanks for the link i will have to peep that one out
