Question Who's getting "The Polar Express: Presented in 3-D" Blu-ray next week?

Now that DVDEmpire.com has confirmed that the new Blu-ray double dip of The Polar Express: Presented in 3-D will have a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track, I'll probably end up selling the current Dolby Digital 5.1-only version that I have for the new version next week.

Will anyone else be getting the 3-D version of The Polar Express next week?

I received mine from Warner yesterday. Although the novelty of the 3-D is pretty cool at times, the use of red/blue anaglyph limits the color palette and you feel a sense of relief after switching back to 2-D—which looks stunning. Again, the 3-D effect works fairly well, but it isn't the same as it is in theaters. The sense of dimension can be awesome at times such as the hot chocolate, flying eagle and roller-coaster scenes. I just wish the disc enabled you to switch versions "on the fly" like the black and white to color switching on the Harryhausen flicks. The audio sounded terrific to me on the previous version and the TrueHD track on this version doesn't disappoint.

All that said, I am glad I sold the original version and picked this one up. They supply you with few sets of cardboard 3-D glasses so that you can share the silliness with others. Oh, one other nifty addition is the new, lenticular slip cover similar to the one Warner recently used for "Beetlejuice."

Mine was delivered Friday night from the Warner store, 3D is a little weird but still a cool gimmick. I'd rather watch the 2D version

I have it pre-ordered as well. Hopefully it will be good enough to justify buying twice since I have the Dolby Digital version also.

I am still on the fence about this movie but my kids love it. Think I will wait since I have a copy of the original version.

Hmmmm, now I'm on the fence about getting this. I have to admit the concept is what drew me in to
begin with.

I haven't seen the blu yet.
That was my comment on the 3-D imax version.
I guess we will find it out soon enough.

I'll be picking it up for the True-HD track itself, the woman loves the movie so its an automatic blu-ray purchase approval. I can give our other copy to family. Should be fun with 3D

So is it confirmed that the 2D version including in the 3-D set contains Dolby TRUE HD on bother versions?

Is this only the 3d version?? Or do you have the option to watch the 2d as well. I saw this once but I don't remember it.

Yeah I'm going to wait til amazon does their annual holiday movie sale and pick it up then, since the kids will want to watch it more around the holidays anyway.

I will pick it up eventually, but it's not high on my list of things to get in the near future.
