Default Panasonic DMP-BD35 Can't Output YCbCr 4:4:4

I have a 3 year old Sharp Aquos 37" 768P LCD TV that supports both YCbCr 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:2:2, how come the BD35 is sending the 4:2:2 signal to my tv? I thought that the BD35 has 4:4:4 support.

Isn't Blu-ray 4:2:2 anyway?

Whiles it's up on this post, which is better 4:4:4 or 4:2:2? I thought from some thing I read 4:2:2 was the superior but if someone in the know could explain I'd appreciate it.

Does your sharp have a 12 bit panel?

I thought most tv's have an 8 bit panel, thus the 4:2:2 setting

I would be more worried about the lack of 1:1 pixel mapping without the use of a video processor than 4:4:4 color support.

BD and DVD are 4:2:0.

4:2:2 is a color upsampling; 4:4:4 is an additional upsampling that has the potential to be better depending on how it's performed and if the display can handle it, but also the potential for more error.
