Best/Worst Threequels

This thread might only last 10 or so movies, but what do people think are some of the best/worst 3rd movies in a series? Or what threequels do people think are better/much worse than the first 2?

It would be cool to hear about some movies that aren't as highly famous as the obvious Spidey3, Godfather, etc which come to mind, though this might only be a few movies. I think Bourne Ultimatum definitely lands on the best list...

LOTR: Return of the King

Mediocre:

Matrix Revolutions
POTC 3 At World's End
Star Wars Episode III or VI (depending on which way you look at it) lol.
Rambo III


Worst:

Godfather 3
Resident Evil: Extinction

Might as well say what are the best threequel. Where most by the third film have exuasted the series. MOST not all.

wow, i remember seeing tmnt 3 in the theaters. one of the worst movies i've ever seen!

this is true, i can't actually think of any series where the 3rd movie is the best (except I have to say I think LOTR: Return of the King was the best of them all)

other ones I can think of that were at least on par with 1st or 2nd would be:

1. good, bad, and the ugly
2. oceans 13 (oceans = one of the only series i can think of where the 1st rocks, the 2nd sucks, and the 3rd rocks again..in my opinion)
3. return of the jedi
4. last crusade

How about 'Karate Kid: Part IV' (a.k.a. 'The Next Karate Kid')??? I was so pissed that the 'Karate Kid' collection included part IV on the same disc as part III... Now I have no choice but to keep the damn piece of garbage!
