Default What movies are you looking forward to?

To me, it doesn't seem like this year has been an astounding year for movies. Sure there have been some unquestionable fun blockbusters (Indiana Jones, Iron Man, Dark Knight, etc.) but nothing I would consider close to a There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, etc (yes I know some of you think Dark Knight is the greatest movie ever).

What movies are you all looking forward to over the next couple of months & in 2009?

I'm stoked about Benjamin Button and Avatar.

1.)Watchmen - First and foremost should be amazing.

2.) The Avengers

3.) Wolverine's film

4.) Thor

5.) Superman Reboot

6.) The Punisher War Zone

Any comic book movie for that matter.

W is pretty good from what I hear and a few people say it might even be nominated.

i thought this year has been amazing for movies. some of the best movies to come out in the last decade came out this year alone. speilberg has done some of his finest work since saving private ryan. there are at least 3 films this year that i would consider to be in the top ten of the last ten years. i want to believe was absolutely amazing. considering i don't like there will be blood at all (actually can't stand it) and don't think no country for old men is all that (burn after reading is better) i think this year's doing right by me.

Grand Prix (1966)

For nearly two years, this film has languished on Warner's list of films "scheduled for 2008". It has yet to be assigned a release date, so I imagine it has been bumped to 2009. It has been out on HD-DVD for some time now and that transfer was highly lauded, so I hope to see it on Blu-ray before too long.

So Far what I know of:
- Watchmen
- Transformers 2
- Star Trek ( Never been a fan but J.J created one of my fav shows so I'll give it a chance)
- The Unborn
- Wolverine
- Apatow's next feature ( I forgot the name )

I can't remember if there are more plus like 3/4 of 2009 has been unannounced so there will a lot more.

Being There, Jerzy Kosinski's 1979 screen adaption of his own novel. Hal Ashby directed.

It is the simple story of a very simple man. But the complications, implications, and consequences of his "being there" resulted in high drama for those around him, those who saw and heard him, and perhaps for the whole nation. This movie is a 'must have' for any collection because it gets better over time. You catch more detail, discover new levels of perspective and envelpoment with every new viewing.

Being There is scheduled for BD release February 3, 2009.
