Friday the 13th Uncut Coming to Blu-ray
November 03, 2008

Paramount Home Entertainment has confirmed what we've expected for months by announcing the original Friday the 13th is coming to Blu-ray on February 3.

The reason for this expectation is the new Michael Bay produced remake that comes out on February 13. Paramount should capitalize nicely on the tie-in.

For Blu-ray, Paramount will be issuing the uncut version in a deluxe edition package. What will make the title deluxe is still unknown but we'll be sure to share the details once we find out.

We do know the deluxe edition DVD, releasing the same day, includes the following extras which "should" appear on Blu-ray.

That's not really an uncommon MSRP for Blu-Ray.

I'm just glad there's going to be a remake as well. No offense but the old classic horrors are just too predictable, the sound quality was pretty cheesy, but it was good for its time.

Hopefully we can get all 8 Paramount-owned films in 2009. It took them a span of 3 years to release them on DVD, which was pretty frustrating for fans wishing to own them all.

Also, PLEASE use original poster art and not the crap that we got for parts 5-8.

Well Paramount announced deluxe editions of part 2 and 3 today as well, but DVD only.

I like many others used to think that Paramount didn't give a crap about thier horror catolog. Case in point the Friday the 13th boxset. We will see on February if I need to do a back peddle on my comments and praise me. If Paramount releases Pet Semetary they might be favorite blu-ray company.

This is a deffenent buy for me.
