Default Oblivion or Armored Cor 4 - Or Both?!

Oblivion and Armored Core 4 have both hit the stores in Walmart. I am torn between the two. I know I know two completely different games. But any feedback and reviews would help.

PS. Do you guys know if the PS3 transfer for Oblivion: Elder Scrolls is worth while?

I'd get Oblivion. This is a game that essentially lasts for as long as you want it to. Truly amazing if you haven't played it yet.

Not sure about Armored Core 4. Oblivion is a great game, one of my favs. I believe if you go by reviews Oblivion scores higher than AC4.
PS3 transfer for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Personally I don't know, but from what I read, Load times were slightly faster and Distance graphics are a liitle bit better, but nothing blowing PC and Xbox 360 out of the water. Of course PS3 comes with Knights of Nine add on.

If you already have Oblivion for the 360 or PC, then don't worry about picking up on PS3.

I have Oblivion for PC- This game is amazing. It is a MUST have. Oblivion won many many awards last year. This game is so good I have considered buying it on the PS3 as well. The PC has user-created mods though.

In terms of Oblivion for PS3 and 360- the PS3 version was enhanced greatly. It is much better than the 360(go look at the comparisons).

As someone said above, this game will last as long as you want it to. It has 200-300hours of sidequests, and about 30 hours(even though I've played more than that and still haven't beat it) of the main quest. As someone also said it comes with the expansion included.

I've seen AC4 and it looked pretty nice, but there is no way it could stand up to such an amazing game that is Oblivion. You will get MUCH better value out of Oblivion.

I don't have either but from what i hear Oblivion is a great game. Only thing about the PS3 vs the other versions is dowloadable content, it's unsure if there will be any in the future for PS3. AC4 looks cool, but seems like it might get old. I'd go for Oblivion.

lol, well you ask us and as it stands
4 votes for Oblivion
0 votes for Armored Core 4

I agree with prettyflaco AC4 looks cool, but seems like it might get old after a while.
I bought Oblivion when it came out for Xox 360 and I'm still not bored playing it. But i guess it depends on how much you like open ended RPGs. Oblivion is worth the price they're asking, and let's face it games worth there cost are rare.

Mech combat or Deep RPG experience.

Your choice was one or both so if you have the cash I vote to get both.

the port for Oblivion from what I've heard from reviews said the game is much better then the 360. better framerates, farthur distance, better texture, new contents exclusively for PS3...

if you're a mecha fan, go with Armored Core, but it is a more complex mecha type game. if you like first-person RPG, then Oblivion is obviously a better choice. next week or so, we should also be getting another new RPG game called Enchanted Arm.

Oblivion hands down. The PS3 version has received some very good scores, and people have commented on the noticeably better visuals and reduced load time vs xbox360 version.

But I must warn that this is quite a long game, and might even say it caters to those who likes western RPGs vs JRPGs. So just because you liked and enjoyed FF or other RPG series on the PS3, doesnt mean you will like the game.

Armor Core 4 has received very bad scores, and from most reviews I read the actual game is the in depth customization of your mech, but once thats done and you bring it into mission or vs another, it's pretty bland and repetitive.

What's the new contents exclusively for PS3?

As far as I know the only difference between them other than better framerates and better graphics is Knights of the Nine is included with the game on the disc, instead of a downloadable content.

Also I agree Oblivion is nothing like JRPGs and is long, 200+ hrs of game play is if you decided to everything sidequests, guide quest, etc... but you can complete the main quest within 40hrs if you want.

If you're still interested in Armored Core 4, there's a demo hitting the PlayStation Store soon. Check that out first and see if you like it.

Generally speaking it's decent, but depending on how much you like mech games it can seem either really awesome or really crappy.

Enjoy, I don't think a spoiler guide is really needed. If you have an active quest, there should be a green arrow telling you where to go. Plus spoiler guides takes the fun out of this type of RPG.

Just ordered 'Oblivion' from Future Shop, will pick it up tomorrow at the local store.

Got it at $58.49 (CAD) plus taxes since they're having a "Family & Friends Sale" at the online store tonight. The regular price is $69.99, so kind of a good thing I don't have to pay the full price. Just thought I'll let some Canucks here know of the sale.

If you Canadians have access to Costco, they have it for $54 and the remote for $19.

Well, I'm going to take a guess and say that the $54 figure is in US currency. If you were to exchange that into Canadian money, it'll be more than $60. At Costco.ca, it's $67 (Canadian Currency).

So it's pretty much the best deal to get it tonight at FutureShop.ca for us. If I ordered it from the USA, I'll get slapped in the face with the duty tax.
