Default I need a new audio set up! Questions

So I currently have a PS3, a Samsung 720p HDTV and an out of the box stereo system. At first I just wanted a "surround sound" system but now I realize I'm not getting nearly the potential out of my ps3 that I should be. So I have this guy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1200703058141
and I like it a lot but don't feel like I'm getting the best sound possible.

So I come to you guys because whenever I go on this site I hear about 7.1 sound and lossless audio and all this great stuff that I CAN'T get.
My question to you is your opinion on what I can buy to upgrade this. I'm not wanting to spend any more then $1,000 on a set up and would actually rather keep it around the $600-$700 range.
Any suggestions help!

thanks! That stuff looks great and I've heard nothing but good things about the Onkyp receivers.
