Not one of the exact models you were looking for, but you can get an Onkyo 605 refurb for about $260 plus shipping.

Whats a great deal....?
I think the 805 on Amazon for 600 is a great deal considering I paid 615 for mine with a small discount months ago.

From what I have been reading on the forums the 805 is overall better then the 806 besides the extra HDMI.

I don't think this would count as a "deal" but it should be worth it to find out where it is and listen to it. List price $2,700

I see you like to live dangerously like me.+1 to the post that says go with authorized dealers only though. My 805 and speakers all are in excellent working order that I got off ebay but it would suck if something happens cause polk and onkyo will only honor the warranty from an authorized dealer

It's not that I don't appreciate great prices, but I'm the guy who will have something go wrong. It's just my luck. I've had to send my Xbox360, Wii, and PS3 all back to the factory for repair/replacement while under warranty. Luckily they were all covered. I've also had to have a tech out twice for my Samsung plasma. Based on these experiences, I prefer to stick with authorized dealers and have a full warranty. No matter how great the price is, it's money thrown away if the product conks out early on and you can't do anything about it. Just my opinion.

not sure if this helps, but at our store( circuit city in niles ohio) our he sup traded in his brand new onkyo 805 for the 806 and the open box 805 is priced at 429.99..its in perfect working order, as he is extremely anal about his electronics..this thing is in pristine condition and im shocked that no1 has bought it yet. if it keeps dropping i might spend the money i dont have on it just cuz i can..but seriously, check some of the local circuit citys around your area that are closing. i havent seen any of the sales since mine isnt one of them, but i have heard through the grapevine that in the next few days the liquidators may be getting aggressive to move some inventory. i will be taking a trip to mayfield ccity next friday as a matter of fact..i need banana plugs, speaker wire, maybe a new xbox controller and an ethernet hub so i can have xbox live and bdlive hardwired together.
