Man I am getting really upset of all these fires here in So Cal. It's so upsetting to see total destruction. And then to hear that it might be arson

Do they know the source for any of them yet? They are now leaning toward arson?

It's so sad to see so many forced out of their homes and so many people have lost so much

Two of my friends and 1 cousin all had to evacuate their homes. I don't know if the freeway to work will be open in the morning.

Each year I hear in the news about fires roughly north west of Los Angeles. What gives ? Arson ? yes it must be arson, how could nature systematically each year light fires in the same area over and over ?

Also considering the kind of money in the bank accounts of most people in that area, I wouldn't worry too much. Also I'm no architect but if I was wealthy and could afford a house in that area, I'd build a house with a big garden around and some kind of pavement made of tiles all around the house with a safe distance from trees so that when (and not if) fires start burning wild, the only reason I'd need to evacuate would be cause of the smokes and nothing else.

What gets me is that you'll here it all over the news when this happens(people trapped, houses burned down, etc....) but when the fires are gone they move on to something else. Like nothing ever happened.

I'm glad (sorry for ALL your losses) that they are north of where I live in San Diego. I'm away from the country so they have me freaking out!

Made it to work fine but the pass through the 57 connectiong Diamond Bar to Brea was nothing but smoke. It was like driving through fog. I still smell it sitting here at my desk.

I know what you mean. I was reading that it ripped thorough an old folks mobile home park. Destroying EVERY home there.. I don't know how many, if anyone, died. But it made me mad. Like those folks need to deal with that with the economy how it is.

There's nothing going on in West Covina. Even the smell of smoke doesn't get to us for some reason. The hills of Diamond Bar and the ones for the pass through to Brea act as a wind barrier. Your friend's parents should be perfectly fine. I didn't smell smoke until I was about halfway through the freeway pass then the smoke clears after you get just past Fullerton.
