HOLY OBITUARY, BATMAN!

I can't believe it. He was my favourate superhero. I just like the way that it was only realism and no superpowers. At least he will always be in our hearts.

It didn't say Bruce Wayne was going to die, just that he might give up the whole Batman charade.

First paragraph:

Just as The Dark Knight closes in on $1 billion worldwide gross, DC Comics is ready to have Bruce Wayne "die" — or at least give up the cape — in his monthly comic.

Exactly: Nerdkiller's comment underlines the whole frustration with "If you're going to do a Summer-Hype storyline, DC, just do one, every company does--
Just QUIT ALERTING THE NATIONAL MEDIA every single time! It was a big deal after the Death-of-Superman thing, but now it's starting to get old! "

(Ie., just how much his comment sounded like that Kevin Nealon SNL sketch back when everybody thought that "Death of Superman" storyline actually was going to be permanent--<sigh> Guyyys... THIS is what happens when you do, 'kay?? )

Hmm a superhero dying ? Not sure there is a precedent to this. So would it mean there won't be anymore batman movies ?

a precedent? superman died, cyclops died, spiderman's died a number of times, and so on and so forth. superhero deaths are all too common.

they picked two. both grant morrisson and neil gaimen are excellent writers. i like gaimen's work better than i do morrisson's, but they're both really good.

I also heard before that Captain America was also killed before. Is this true or not, I'm not into comic books, any way or form.

Maybe Stephen Colbert would like to be the new Batman.

He wasn't killed.

He had his back broken, there's a slight, but important difference.

DEADGUMMIT!! He owes me money!

I stopped reading comics years ago, but I still try to keep up on the news. If Dick, Tim, or Jason takes over the cowl, some people at DC need to get fired.

Now they just need to get someone to replace Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, Aquaman... oh wait!

I remembered that part, but I thought it had killed him. it's been so long since I've read comics.
