The Zoof, Is this movie similar to Guy's other movies? I love Snatch, one of my favs.

I rank RockNRolla in the middle of Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch for Ritchie's gangster-style flicks. It's a fun film and has the signature Ritchie look, quick dialogue & fast pace.

I wonder if there will be changes to the film, like there was in the Revolver U.S. blu-ray (they supposedly changed the ending in that version).

I was expecting Revolver again when i saw it, but was relieved to have actually witnessed a good guy ritchie film.

Not a whole lot extras wise on the BD release, but if it has a good transfer i'll pick it up.

this isnt the best guy ritchie movie but decent...saw a really good british gangster flick called 'clubbed' thats much better than recent ritchie flicks

I enjoyed both snatch and ls&2sb so thats good news. Hated the revolver ending, so thats more good news!

Really, the only thing i thought that was keeping this from being as memorable as lock stock and snatch was the dialogue. It just wasn't as sharp as those two films.

I'll say this about it...

Within the Guy Ritchie filmography, it is his 'Jackie Brown' in reference to Quentin Tarantino filmography. It is a character driven piece that is structured around a modest plot.

I wouldn't say that it's his masterpiece, but it is definitely enjoyable. I still rank 'Snatch' as my favourite Guy Ritchie film with 'Lock Stock...' and 'Rocknrolla' fighting for second. I can't believe how many "Brit-isms" I didn't understand though! Being an entertainment junkie, I thought that I had heard them all. Apparently not!

Silly me... I mentioned what I thought about the movie in my previous post but didn't comment on the quality of the Blu-ray release itself.

Warner Bros. is definitely catching onto the PQ bandwagon as this transfer is beautiful! As for the audio, it was pretty robust for a TrueHD track. However, it was definitely lacking in environmental detail. I don't think this has anything to do with the actual transfer though. I believe that the soundscape was left fairly barren in the original mix of the film.
