Over 100,000 PlayStation Home Beta 1.0 Invites Going Out Today - Blu-ray Forum

The open PlayStation Home Beta 1.0 rollout has begun, and it looks like its kicked off in the european region first. PlayStation Home community manager "TedTheDog" posted the following information today, 11/21/08, on the SCEE PlayStation forums:
"Home Beta 1.0 is aimed at delivering a stable base upon which to build the service over the coming months and years and so please remember that this is not a game and it is not a launch, this is a start of a journey.
Timings
Last night v1.0 went live in the beta and our existing testers are now up and running with it.
Today, Friday 21st, over a hundred thousand invitations will be sent across the SCEE region and next Thursday the 27th another larger batch of invitations will be sent.
If you are lucky enough to get an invitation then please note there will be load test event on each of the two evenings.
For everyone else Open Beta will not be far behind." No word from SCEA, the US PlayStation division, on when Home Beta 1.0 invites will be sent out in the US.

This is the last stage of the closed Beta. It will last about a week to test server load capability, and will expand all week until it reaches a significant number. Right now there are about 20-30,000 users in Home, by the end of next week it should be 500,000.

If all goes well and the servers hold firm we can hope that Home will open beta will launch just after Thanksgiving weekend...

I hope this proves me wrong, I think Home is a waste of time and resources and will be boring as hell after a week.

A little OT, but whatever happened to the LBP demo you said would be available after launch?

Sorry bout that!

It was an idea floating around SCEE, it never got past committee stage.

Like a lot of the info I have, it was an idea floating around at lower levels waiting for approval, this one never got it...

It's a shame they aren't releasing this BEFORE Thanksgiving weekend when people have four day weekends, etc. and might actually have the time to look around for a while.

It's a shame, I think it's one game that would sell a lot better if they did a demo - maybe 1 gardens level and 2 popular created levels. Since it's so different, it might draw more people in.

the game downloaded, but I can't get past the "warning" screen where it says press "x" to continue does anybody else have this problem??

make sure the controller you are using is assigned as controller 1
