Was checking out the HMV japan site and found this listing for the Wachowski brothers 'Bound' movie! I sure hope its true!

Japan is Region A, so you don't have to worry about it being region free unless you have a Region B player.

And I will also be getting this, it's a great movie and the Japanese dub features on of my favorite voice actresses as Violet, Yuko Mizutani. She's been in hundreds of anime movies and series over the past 2 decades or so. Although she used her "sexy" voice instead of her cute voice, too bad since the cute voice would have been a better match for Jennifer Tilly.

CD Japan states it will have an english DTS HD 5.1 audio! And Play Asia has the box art! Unfortunately, the only special feature I can see is 'bonus video footage'. I have no idea what this could be. The only Bound copy I have is the laserdisc version, which has the "running audio commentary featuring the Wachowski Brothers, Jennifer Tilley, Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano and others!"

Hey, DVD beaver already posted a pretty good review! Looks like the old audio commentary didn't made it into this release. Can hardly wait to get it! I'm still waiting for a shipping confirmation email from yesasia!

Went ahead and ordered this version of Bound, I know there is a European version out there that has given some some issues on PS3's in the US for a PAL format issue on a menu / may or may not have been cleared up yet.

This version seems to have a higher bit and uses more disc space. I know I lose the commentary etc, but I would rather have better image qualtiy Anyone else in the US own this BD have any opinions on this Japan release?

It will be interesting to hear your impressions of this disc. I strongly doubt a proper U.S. release will ever manifest, so importing seems to be the only option.

I got confirmation that my BD from Japan for BOUND was shipped yesterday and I tracked it (it ships FED EX) and is scheduled to deliver tomorrow! We will see but they do charge a lot for shipping as express delievery only. So that is ok by me. I should have it before Christmas.

Ok FOLKS huge Update on this Japan issue of BOUND! This release DOES Contain the Audio Commentary!

I got my BD from japan amazon site to the US in about 2 days! (cost was about $24.00 ish

The audio commentary track is the THIRD audio option on the BD!

The image is as good as expected... It does have a high bit rate etc and the audio is good... there were maybe a few times I felt the blacks weren't deep enough, or seemed to show what I considered maybe noise not grain BUT that being said I would still own the release.

Who knows if it will ever get a BD release in the US until then this is a great version to buy.

sorry it took so long to respond. The spine is in both The top part is an image of either Gina or Jennifer then the englist title Bound then the cast names og Gina Jennifer and Joe, then in Japanese the title, then a pic of either Gina or Jennifer. It looks better than can be described.
