Default Onkyo connection question.

Hey there, I just got my Onkyo 606 and I have a question. I run everything to onkyo via hdmi and then from onkyo one hdmi to tv. But I have satellite receiver that doesn't have hdmi connection. I run it via rca component straight to tv. So my question is, can i take my rca component and plug satellite to onkyo and it will then put it from onkyo to tv via hdmi ? I just don't have a spare rca and my curent one I run through the wall so if I take it out and it's no go I'll have hard time putting it back in.

yes, you can connect your Component cable to the Receiver and it will convert to HDMI output. (there is a setting in the Receiver you will need to make)

But...

you will then be sharing display settings (color, contrast, brightness, sharpness etc) with every other HDMI device connected through that receiver.

If you want the most picture quality out of your cable programming, just keep it the way you have it. That way you can adjust for the best settings.
