Default sound card worth it?

I play currently play my Blu-Rays through my PC and I am using integrated sound. I just wanted to know is it worth it to buy a sound card to get the most out of the lossless audio. Is it worth it? Has anyone here heard a significant difference? and what sound card should I get?

So, integrated sound being the motherboard sound? If so, some or many of the onboard sound cards are pretty good to boot. Many motherboards are now packaging Real Tek audio with 7.1 surround sound. However, I've just installed my Phillips Acoustic Edge 5.1 and I love the software that comes with it to manipulate the sound. A sound card can, in my opinion, can give you a leg up on on board sound. I would suggest a Creative card or go look at reviews from newegg.com for some suggestions. Some sound cards even integrate fire wire and other components as well. Take care and good luck. Hopefully, this helps.

I'm never quite sure what does more to enhance the audio quality -- the soundcard or the speakers. Regardless, I think they both go hand-in-hand for a great overall Blu-ray experience. I personally have the Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, which I am very satisfied with. I'm using a pair of SteelSound 5H V2 headphones, but I'm saving up for the Logitech Z-5500.
