Sony S550 -- $305.37, Now $317.39 ?!?!

WTH Amazon ---- Got up today before heading off to work (Yes, I know---long story...) - anyway, It WAS $305.37 just before I left about 12:45pm, and I get home a few mins back and it's back UP to $317.39 !!!!! F___K Me ! --- I "Guess" i'll be getting up tomorrow morning, or checking back Later there in a couple hours and Hope it goes back Down near the $300 threshold I was waiting for to Pull the trigger. Yea, it's only $12 diff., but it makes me crazy how this item (& others, including Bluray's, keep going up & down every day)

Its at $318.17 now. Its annoying, I live in the Uk too so i'm waiting for this to dip below $300. Can't see it happening this side of Christmas now.

PS. i know I can't use Amazon to import to the Uk but when Amazon drops their prices everyone else usually follows.

I had called Amazon about 2 months ago when I was going to buy a tv..because I noticed that the price flucuated ALOT during the day. They said it was not something that they controlled, it was a computer thing that monitors prices around the U.S to sort of keep in line with the current prices.

True or not..I dont know for that is just what they told me because I was frustrated when a tv I wanted jumped over $100 in the course of minutes.

I HOPE it drops anywhere Near that! ($20 or more, that'd be great). I just noticed it is back down to $305, but of course after I spent almost $300 today/this morning, on the Blu Rays (16 total incl. Band of Bros for $49.99!), i'll be waiting til' it goes down. lol, i'll have 24 total blurays, and hopefully a BLU RAY PLAYER soon to watch em' !

This is my first post in this forum. And I was also waiting for a dip close to the $300.00 range when it went up to the 318 range where it is sitting now. The nerds.net is still advertising it for $305.99, but I reads elsewhere in this forum that that site is questionable. I actually have to buy two blu-ray players. I want an S550 for the basement home theater and a an S350 for the family room, so I'm trying to look for a good combined deal.

Hello all, I have a bdp-s550 and it has been working great until lately. When I turn it on it boots to the home menu just fine. Then when I watch a blu-ray (have done this on multiple ones), I get the load icon while it loads then after it loads it just goes to a static screen. It looks like a black and white static screen but it has some color to it.

If I hit the home button it goes back to the home menu and once I re-enter it'll load and work again. Only a small amount of time the second load will go back to the colored static. I've switched HDMI ports on the tv and tried different movies and HDMI cables all get the error. Any ideas or is it just dying? Thanks in advance!
