Yes they do have some good deals. Also you might want to wait to see how the sales go on Black Friday and the weekend. If sales numbers are low we might see more sales on the horizion before Christmas and after Christmas as well. Depends on how long you are able to wait.

There is always that chance. But based on this economy I think retailers will be forced to slash prices even more down the road. And you don't have to deal with the madness out there today. Best of luck to you !

Is Cyber Monday generally recognized by most stores? I have never done the whole Thanksgiving weekend shopping thing so it's all new to me and I never heard of this until recently.

Me too most likely. Do you know off hand some of the stores that do it? I'm guessing Amazon probably does but wasn't sure about like Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's, etc...

It's been gaining momentum each year. Last year was bigger than any I'd seen. I imagine this year to have more participation and be larger than last.

I am by no means an expert but a number of years ago Cyber Monday was the big thing to do. They promoted the no tax and free shipping on items bought on this day. They thought at the time Cyber Monday would be the new way to shop. However, they were wrong. It did not catch on like they hoped it would. Also I think that if sales are down we might see a big slash on HD TV prices around the Super Bowl mostly the 720p models though.

Thanks. Hopefully then with everything going on these past two days, some of the deals will resurface then or be even better. This is the first real BD shopping event so hopefully a lot more people have hopped on with the cheap players and the Blu deals will continue to get lower.

New York (NY) - More than $733 million were spent online this past Monday, making it the most successful Cyber Monday on record.

Moreover, this gives November 26, 2007 the spot as the most money spent for online shopping in a single day. According to Internet industry tracker Comscore, it was a 21% increase over last year’s Cyber Monday.

May they hear you. Purchased five so far, but still need a couple of more at the right price.

My Blu collection is not that big, I only get what I really want so Aeon Flux is the only one I picked up so far that I didn't already have or want. So hopefully others will come down in price enough to want to get them too.

Cyber Monday is as it sounds. Think of it as a Black Friday but for online buying.

Wikipedia's Definition:

The term Cyber Monday refers to the Monday immediately following Black Friday, the ceremonial kick-off of the holiday online shopping season in the United States between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. [1] Whereas Black Friday is associated with traditional brick-and-mortar stores, "Cyber Monday" symbolizes a busy day for online retailers. The premise was that consumers would return to their offices after the Black Friday weekend, making purchases online that they were not able to make in stores. Although that idea has not survived the test of time, Cyber Monday has evolved into a significant marketing event, sponsored by the National Retail Federation's Shop.org division, in which online retailers offer low prices and promotions.

Got another question concerning cyber monday. I seen sales today that were posted on bestbuy.com that are advertised as cyber monday, but they say they are good for today and monday. Is there any chance that there will be a change in prices on monday or will they remain the same as today.
