Is The Punisher A SUPERHERO?

Ive had a few people tell me that the punisher is not a superhero what do you think

Well, he blasted some punks that killed a little girl and he can handle himself against Spider-man, Daredevil and few other. He is a super hero to me!

However.... no. Punisher isn't considered a 'Superhero' in the traditional sense.
The character may exist in that Genre. But he doesn't fit the archetype.

He's gone gunning for Spider-Man, The Runaways (Children), and Sentry. Among others.

He's even murdered two villains in cold blood during Civil War, even though they were working with the Heroes at the time. Which got him a sound thrashing from a very pissed off Captain America.

He's an Anti-hero.

There's nothing SUPER about someone who has an itchy trigger finger. Hell, I wouldn't call the people who open fired at a Toys R Us in the States today "Super" by any stretch of the imagination. {unless I was using a few swear words afterwards}

Heroes have morality. Punisher does not.

No Super powers, and not a hero, so no, obviously he's not a Super Hero.

Numerous reasons.

Chief being his morality. Even willing to kill children if he considers them guilty.

He's more of a Vigilante or Anti-Hero. And is unrepentant for his actions.

Whoa! I never heard of Frank Castle killing any kids! Where do you get this from? And powers don't make the super hero,its more of what they take on. Let say if I were to meet Spider-man, i would tell him: I respect you for your powers but admire you for your responsibilities..

He's great with Weaspons and Hand to Hand Combat but no Powers as mentioned above.

Not exactly. Batman and Iron Man still count as Superheroes.

They're simply 'Gadget Type' heroes. And operate under a 'Heroic' Code.

Punisher's code of ethics and morals however place him outside the box.

Batman has trained himself to be in absolute peak physical human shape, he's an expert of several martial arts and has gadgets and a code of ethics.

Batman IS a super hero because there are few people on the planet that can stand up against him in hand-to-hand combat. That's pretty damned super, what pushes him over the top is the fact that he's a criminologist expert and has gadgets that help him along the way.

He also has a code of ethics, Punisher does not.

i never said anything about not being a hero. i said he wasn't a "super" hero.
and to answer ur other concern, batman is not a superhero, again, "no 'super' power = no 'super' hero", which by the way batman doesn't have.
