Arrow Steven Seagal Vampire Movie

Yes that's right, Sony is releasing Steven Seagal's first horror movie straight to video.

Quote:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that it will release "Against the Dark" on DVD, which will be the first Steven Seagal horror film. The new movie is set to appear in stores on February 10th, 2009.

Plot: Katana master Tao (Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it's time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there’s nothing left to lose but the last of humanity.

In addition to Seagal, the movie also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's cousin, Tanoai Reed. "Against the Dark" is 94 minutes long and is rated R for bloody violence/gore, some language and brief nudity.

I thought ALL Steven Seagal movies went straight to video these days. In fact, I can't remember the last one that was at the theater. Probably one with some rapper in it. I think Seagal and Jean Claude Van Dam have gone past their 15 minutes.

I think the costs of the prints and distribution to the theaters would cost more than the movie would make.
