Tips for shipping a big TV to your house? - Blu-ray Forum

Welp, I'm looking to pounce on a deal for a Sony 52 inch "W" series HDTV 120hz.

These things are large beasts in their box...I'm hoping to score one from Amazon sometime over the holiday at a good price.

Anyone had a TV this size shipped to their house? If so, does the trucking company call to schedule delivery? Does the guy help put this monster on a dolly and help cart it into the house or ?

Do I need to pull the box off the TV ON THE TRAILER and inspect it first?

Just wondering about other people's experiences...thanks.

If you find a good deal from Amazon directly they mostly always include free white glove delivery. They carry it inside for you and set it up for you. I just bought mine but only got threshold delivery which means they will carry it inside but leave it inside the door.

Well when I got mine (only a 40") they called for to schedule a delivery, and he showed up to my house a little late, after calling to ask for directions becuase his GPS got him lost (I live out in the middle of nowhere). He carried it inside, and helped me set it up, then waited for me to turn it on, and inspect it to make sure nothing was worng. He then took away the box and all the trash. It couldn't have been any better.
