Default Current DVD's obsolete??

Does anyone know if my collection of DVD's will be obsolete when Blu-Ray kicks in. Will Blu-Ray continue to play the current DVD's?

Well technically DVD will be obsolete when Blu-ray takes over but the BDA has already confirmed that all Blu-ray players will playback DVDs as well. No need to throw your DVDs away just yet. Remember how long it took Star Wars and Indiana Jones to be released on DVD, it'll likely be a long wait for them to hit Blu-ray as well. If you love those movies you'll be able to enjoy those DVDs for several years yet before an HD disc comes along.
