Default Panasonic DMP-BD55 - setting speaker distance settings

Hello, I will soon be setting up a new Panasonic DMP-BD55 player to my older Sony V333ES receiver (5.1). Before I had this new player I would let my receiver decode the audio and I had also done settings on the receiver for speaker types and distances. Here is my question, when I set up my new player via analog wires to 5.1, will I not have to redo my speaker settings because I had done them on my receiver in the past? Or do I do the speaker settings on the new player since it is doing the decoding in this case? Hope that is clear...

I would still maintain the speaker settings in your receiver, and leave the settings in the Panasonic BD player at default, which is "0". Just stream the analog from your player unmodified, and your receiver will do the rest just like it did before. This should minimize the amount of modification to the audio signal before it gets reproduced by your speakers.

Oh, OK. That is good. I wasn't sure if the receiver speaker settings would still work since the receiver would not be doing the audio decoding. Thanks.
