Default Harmony 550 $59.99 @ BB

Great price for a nice remote. I picked one up this evening for my wife's HT room.

Dood! I totally paid 59.99 for mine 3 hours ago! Oh well.... I'm not going back for $10, unless I just happen to go by there some time in the next month.

I would still try to wait for a sale on the Harmony 880 if you can. For Cyber Monday Amazon sold it for $79.99 ( I purchased one) and supposedly it had dropped some time to $75).

Amazon has a refurbished 880 that is coming back in stock soon. It's $75 with free shipping.

It does take a bit as does switching between components. But, otherwise you would need to handle all of the remotes all the time. I only use the original component remotes when I need to do something not supported (or easily found) on my Harmony 880.

Same here... at 79.99, the 880 is a no brainer.

I'd be cautious before buying the refurbished 880. I bought and returned it to amazon twice because of problems with the charging base. This was a problem originally with the 880 that has since been fixed, but could still be an issue with a refurbished. However, I highly recommend the 880 and think that if it can be had for under $100 it is worth getting over the 550. I own both and can't stand the 550. No color screen makes a huge difference, and it isn't set up as well. I have the One as well and would recommend that over both but at twice the price it might not be worth it to some.

This is an absolute STEAL for only $50. I bought mine for $90 a year ago, and it was money well spent even at that price.

I told a co-worker to order the 550 today. He didn't know that universal remotes even existed.

I really want to get a Harmony, but I missed out on the 880 deals. Is the 880 worth waiting for? I will not pay over $100.

550 is able to control a few more devices, and has a slightly different button layout.

I could be wrong, but I believe those are the only differences.

Will the 880 by under $100 at a closing Circuit City store?
