Post Lucky Number Slevin

Anyone get Lucky Number Slevin on blu yet? I didn't see much in the way blu-ray reviews. I loved this movie and was wondering how good the Blu quality was.

Thanks

I was thinking up picking this up too, but I saw it was only $16 new and $14 used on Amazon which led me to believe that maybe the PQ and AQ might not be that good.

Thanks guys. I saw 16 on amazon too. Plus it originally came out on HD DVD so thats why I was unsure of the quality.

Thanks for your comments.

"Looks outstanding on Blu-ray"? How did this piece of crap ever get a 4.5 PQ here? I'm fairly easy to please, but ... no snap, no color, I think my DVD may have looked better than this.

I've been told that the UK BD is "slightly" better. Anyone have them both, seen them both - and care to share an opinion as to the difference? I really like this flick but unless I've gone blind tonight, I'm at a loss as to explain my disappointment. I paid money for this! Okay, I just popped in the DVD and the BD looks better - maybe - but not by that much.

Glancing at the screens on Beaver inked at the top of the thread, it looks no different than it did when I saw it in theaters. The haze is intentional.

Beaver's screens are often not much. In any case, I must strongly disagree with you. My VC-1 UK edition finally arrived and looks much better. Yes, there is some intentional haze and some soft shots, but the image actually looks like a Blu-ray on the UK release - despite using the "lesser" codec. I really like this movie and I'm glad I spent the extra money to get a better version.

Lucky Number Slevin
US/AU - AVC 2.40:1,TrueHD 5.1, more extras (Region A locked)
UK - VC-1 2.39:1, DTS-HD MA 5.1, fewer extras (Region free) Best PQ

The sound may even have been sweeter - but perhaps my amp just decodes DTS better ... or maybe I could just relax and enjoy it more since I wasn't fogged in.
