Possible future upgrades:
(show me someone who is done upgrading their home theater and I'll show you a dead man )
  • D-Box seats.
  • I am considering adding Ayre MX-R monoblocks to power the mains in the near future.
  • I am considering swapping out the B&W's LCR's for Revel Ultima2 Salon2/Voice2, or maybe Dynaudio Evidence Temptation/Center.
  • Adding a second Gotham g213.

I really love scope screens. Very nice. I have that same cherry credenza in my family room with a 42 inch flat panel LCD on it for "reguar" TV watching. It's built like a tank!

As a guy who sets these up for a living.... very nice. I can't wait to get started on mine. It will be at a lower budget but still nice. I got a 92" screen and am now maybe thinking I should get a bigger one. Guys are always complaining about size, huh?

Incredible. This is easily one of the finest home theaters I have seen. Top marks!

I am a huge fan of Bowers & Wilkins and all your other items are great as well.

I am sure you put a lot of time, money and love into this and it paid off completely.

Thanks!. I actually keep my BD's in the bookshelves next to the fireplace. There's a large built in cabinet in the room which I use to store my DVD's. My LD's are in a storage area with the boxes and such for the equipment.

Thanks very much! I think it's a general rule of thumb of FP systems to get the biggest screen (within a projector's reasonable capabilities) that you can fit into your room. There are many people who wish they had gone larger with their screen-- there are very few people who wish they had gone smaller. Worse come to worse, you can also mask off a larger screen if it is too big.

If you are thinking about going larger on the screen, definitely do so if you can-- I think you'll be happier in the long run.

Would it be possible to build center speaker directly under the screen so nothing is upstaging your screen?

It's hard to upstage an HTM2D

I think (if I am seeing it right) that the screen is wall mounted, so that really wouldn't be possible since the equipment (especially his amp ) is so deep...... plus the screen isn't a traditional drop down because of the curve etc, so it probably limits his mounting options..... he'd in effect shorten the room by 6 feet if he wanted to bring the screen to the speaker's depth.

I like it.... but I'm partial to beautiful things

This is my favorite HT on these forums...Well, my favorite anywhere for that matter.

Well played, sir!

EDIT: Brian, what camera do you use for your screen shots. I cannot keep my 6.0 mega-pixel Kodak camera still enough to take a great photo.

Have you adjusted your aperture settings. I guess I'm asking "How do you take such great photos, mang?"

Brain,

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Bravo!

Bowers & Wilkens are my absolute favorite speaker manufacturer, and I think your home theater room is the best I've seen on the site. Would you please add photos of your whole room to this thread? You have other pictures in the gallery, but they deserve to all be displayed in this thread.

Keep up the great work!

I was thinking, since he has so much cabinet space (most of it looks unused), to remove the center section, and put the center speaker stand in there...would look better IMO.

Serious stuff the OP has..I like it. I would just tend to stare at the center speaker off and on.

Fenders,

B-man is right-- the screen is wall mounted flush to the drywall. One consideration I have is building a false wall about 2 feet in front of the current drywall, aperture mount the screen in the false wall, place the HTM2D behind the screen, move everything a couple of feet up, and move the seating back a little. That might be a bit "cleaner" although the HTM2D is reasonably aesthetically pleasing. It might also improve the sound performance a little, with the voices coming right from the screen.

I've been considering this more and more recently, so we'll see...
