Filming is scheduled to begin in 2009.

Apparently the film will be something of a reimagining, going all the way back to the 2000 AD comics that Sylvester Stallone's 1995 film was based on as well. The news comes from the official 2000 AD forums, where Jason Kingsley left this message for fans: "We can't give away too many details at this point, but we're looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen."

Judge Dredd is a law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot.

The 1995 Judge Dredd wasn't all that great. Lets hope this Dredd remake/reboot is imaginative

As a Sylvester Stallone action movie it was good. As a Judge Dredd film, not so much.

This was one of the worst movies of the 90s. What's next, sequels to Broken Arrow or Silent Fall?

Original Broken Arrow with Jimmy Stewart is a great film. Since netflix i have been checking out the classics and this is a good 4 out of 5 stars.

Now back to Stallone Judge was good for what it was supposed to be a fun action flick.

Comparing Demolition Man to Judge Dredd and saying they're the same is like saying "The Dark Knight seemed the same as Batman & Robin".

The only one of the two that even deserve to be ever released on bluray is Demolition Man.

This movie was horrible but watchable for me, I could always get into watching it but I new it was a dumb movie.
