No doubt, the first one is incredible. One of the better theater moments I have ever had. I hope it gets to blu-ray sooner than later.

4 1/2? The US film came out in 2002 and the DVD in 2003. It's been more like 8 years

It's on DVHS (HD VHS), and Cinemax has been showing it in HD on their channels (and it looks better than most films on the channel). What the wait is for when they obviously have an hd master (and one that doesn't look old/poor), and when the film is one of the biggest hits and most popular films of the past ten years, I do not know. The fact that it's a pretty recent blockbuster that is even more popular on dvd and has yet to even be announced for blu-ray is very odd.

Dreamworks/Universal released all of these on dvd under their name, so maybe a mega boxset wouldn't be out of the question.

Me personally I would be very happy with a Ring/Ringu double pack.
