Default Buy.com Increases Prices!

Has anyone checked out Buy.com lately? They have increased their prices on almost all of their Blu-ray movies by 20-30%! I enjoyed the benefits of the Google Checkout as much as the next person, but this SUCKS!

There are still some that they didn't increase, but they are few and far between, grab them now, they will probably increase as well.

When you look at the grid view it shows the old prices, but once you click on the list view it increases the price. Also when you add to your cart, either in the grid or list view, the cart reflects the new price.

I hope this is just a glitch, since this just happened today, because I ordered yesterday 04/16/2005 with the old prices.

Click the link to check them out as well...

Wow you arent kidding. They used to be right inline if not a tad less than Amazon but now I think amazon is clearly got better deals. Hell some of the prices at amazon are 5-10 less!

Well it could be that people have been abusing the GC deal.

Or it could be - unlikely - that the next GC deal is gonna be on soon.

The funny thing is that Buy.com is not the one losing money on the GC deal. This is a Google thing and Buy.com gets the $10 from Google.

I wonder if it is Google that has put some "influence" in Buy.com's decision? Ah the power of persuasion of an Internet superpower such as Google!

I'm sure since Blu-ray, for the most part, has been impacted more than HD-DVD, probably buy statistical analysis of percentage of Blu-ray orders with GC, that they decided to increase the prices of Blu-ray vs HD-DVD.

Well Buy.com will probably lower their prices again, eventually, since the current prices they are charging are WAY over the rest of the Internet e-commerce sites. Looks like it is back to ebay and Amazon!

its still cheaper with the 10 dollars off though....the superman I and II plus some others are still 19 bucks which Im gonna have to order soon before they go up. I abuse the google checkout everyother week...lol...they havent cancelled any of my orders yet which is a good thing, since Ive been using the same card and address for 4 different orders all within 2 weeks of each other. Plus if u sign up for their visa, u get $30 bucks free to use on whatever, and what I mean by whatever, is blu rays. U can cancel the card anytime really, or just dont use the darn thing.

I agree, ever since I had a bad experience with them back in the day with a DVD Pre-order of Toy Story: The Ultimate Toybox Edition, I vowed I would never buy from this crappy e-tailer again!

However... since the Google Checkout thing had arrived and my recent purchase into the world of Blu-ray, with my PS3, I figured this is one great way to take advantage of the customer service challenged company!

I too have taken advantage of these deals in the amout of somewhere between 15-20 orders, all using the same address, but multiple credit cards, and all with different emal addresses and phone numbers.

I have never had any good luck with Buy.com. I avoid them at all cost.

In my case I always get free shipping via Amazon's free shipper saver (whatever its called). I also get 10% additional off their already discounted prices and no tax. So I feel the deals are always the best from Amazon.

Well you can have free shipping on order $25 or more. No sale tax. Plus I found amazon price to be $1 to $7 cheaper than dvdempire or deepdiscoutdvd.
