Default LG Plasma - problems with Media Centre connection

a friend of mine has purchased a lg plasma 50 inch not sure what model current one i think any the problem is he has also purchased a media centr pc and tried to hook it up too plasma through hdmi cable and it starts to load as normal and then says invalid format on sreen of plasma tried everything to fix problem but hitting it with a hammer .tried system on phillips lcd and works fine pretty sure lg plasma is missing software in screen settings can any one help?????please

how is he connected? hdmi,dvi,rgb?

its probably a simple setting he needs to change in the PC display settings.

What are you/he trying to run it through? PC to TV, PC to Reciver to tv, ect?

NM/ so TV to PC ok.
